Today I am doing something a little different. I was invited by Target as a tastemaker to share my view on their wedding registry theme “Be Yourself Together”. They asked me to choose one item from their newest wedding picks and pair it with a very different registry item, yet create a “story” of togetherness. I immediately picked this gorgeous cotton pinched pleat duvet cover set, which you may happen to see in my upcoming bedroom tour because I fell in love with it myself. Target’s Wedding Registry is such a great place to select some fabulous items for a new couple’s home as they have a vast variety from home goods, to outdoor, to electronics and more to choose from. As a wedding guest I would be thrilled at the ease and convenience of Target’s Wedding Registry as it is a monthly shopping destination for me both in store and online.
What fun! To start this post, I created a fictional engaged couple I am calling Olivia and Jacob who have very distinct styles and tastes. Olivia is a project manager at an ad agency. She loves texture and comfort and this all-cotton lavender duvet cover set draws her immediately. She then gathers some extra pillows to add to the bedding, a gold metallic ikat print, a pick stitch quilted pillow and a tear drop beaded pillow, creating a fresh and comfy bed to melt into after a busy day. Jacob is all about the kitchen as he works at a local micro brewery. His style is vintage rustic so he immediately goes for the aqua Keurig individual coffee brewer. He also picks some fun vintage style serving pieces and monogrammed mugs for their kitchen.
And here is how I styled all of these items and a few more things I have purchased from Target for my own home. Of course having a fresh cup of joe in bed when you awake would be the best, especially on a weekend morning with your new hubby. I hope you had as much fun as I did with this couple.
