DIY_Crepe_Paper_HibiscusEven here in rainy Portland we love a wash of tropical colors. It has actually been in the 90’s for the last few weeks and for our little city that is a heat wave! August is the perfect time to go a little tropical, no matter where on the globe you live. These lush hibiscus flowers are just the answer to add a splash of color to your beachy ensemble, to the top of a gift or to decorate your tropical themed event.

Here is the good news. . . they are quite easy to make with a little bit of crepe and tissue paper using my printable pattern and the tutorial below. To add even more interest you can simple blooms, spray the edges of your petals with a yellow paint to create an ombre effect.
