I first “met” Glorya and Tim this spring on Instagram. They tagged me in a few of their photos showing their paper rose making process that used my rose video tutorialbouquet tutorial and rose template for their June wedding. I immediately started following them. Having this tiny behind the scenes view was a delight and I fell in love with this beautiful couple as I watched the progress of their wedding planning pop up on Instagram. This, however did not prepare me for the big WOW when Glorya sent me  photos of their June wedding. Glorya and Tim made over 500 paper roses between January and May. She shared that Tim did most of the cutting while she assembled and had help of a few family members. The results were stunning as you can see. I also noted the glitter Mr & Mrs that I had shared on my former blog and will repost here for all of you upcoming brides.

I asked Glorya to share a few highlights of the wedding and this is what she wrote: We got married on June 22, 2013 in Seattle, Washington. Our wedding venue was Court in the Square, which is located in the historic Pioneer Square neighborhood of Seattle. (Fun fact: Court in the Square is where Macklemore and Ryan Lewis filmed the downtown Seattle rooftop scenes for their “Can’t Hold Us” music video!)

Our wedding colors were grey and yellow. As a nod to our long distance relationship (Tim lives in Taiwan while I’ve lived in Asia, the U.S. and Africa during our relationship), we had a travel themed wedding. We named each guest table after a country we’d visited together. My dress was by Maggie Sottero and Tim’s suit was Calvin Klein (available at Macy’s). Tim and I both wore white Converse sneakers as did the two groomsmen, our ring bearer, and Tim’s dad! Our first dance was to “What A Wonderful World” by Louis Armstrong.

My favorite flowers were the ones my maid of honor printed on map paper. I also loved the yellow paper rose pomanders, which we hung under the archway that served as our altar. They were a big hit with the guests. In fact, a lot of people thought they were real!
