I love making your felt stuffies and am currently making the felt dinosaurs. I have a question about the thread though. How many strands do you use when you are sewing the pieces together?

Great question Tessa! We are about to release a mini-course that will go over all of these details. In the meantime, here is what is going into our printable workbook for the course as a guide: Whip Stitch: 1 thread, Ladder Stitch: 1 thread, Blanket Stitch: 2 threads, Whiskers: 3 threads, Mouth Details: 2 threads. Hope that helps!

Wow, that seems like so few! Is this a governing tip on how many threads you use in each felt craft?

Hello! Can you tell me what setting you use to cut Lia Griffith felt on the Cricut Maker? I am having a horrible time with it … the machine keeps dragging and jamming. I’ve used brand new mats, adjusted the pressure, tried to pick different material settings, changed the blade, etc. I am at a loss. I am not sure what the problem is. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Hi Melissa! We use the Felt or Fabric setting, but you must use the rotary blade (can’t tell from your comment if you are?) If that doesn’t solve your problem it could certainly be an issue with your machine, so you’ll want to reach out to Cricut customer service.

Yes. I use the rotary blade and the wool felt setting. I’ve actually tried all the felt settings, except for the one that didn’t call for the rotary blade. Thx. I have contacted Cricut.

Ugh how frustrating, I’m sorry! It sounds like you have tried everything but make sure your mat is very sticky– use a brayer or scraper tool to really press the felt into mat, and even try taping around the edges.

I love felt projects. I cut the materials, shove everything I need to sew it in a zip lock bag and into my purse to do at work on break.
