Two years ago I filmed a series of videos with Creativebug called the Paper Wedding Crafts class series. Because spring is (almost) in the air and wedding season is upon us, I decided to re-visit these classes to offer some DIY wedding projects just right for planning your event! My Creativebug classes are offered in a four-week series and each week you will be making a new papercraft wedding decor project. The first of these classes is to make this adorable and pretty floral headwreath. In the following classes I will teach you how to make a matching flower garland backdrop, DIY topiaries, and then a 3D monogram to finish the series.
This crepe floral headwreath would be wonderful for so many uses. I originally envisioned making a floral headwreath as the perfect accessory for a flower girl as she walks down the aisle of your wedding, but it can also be used as part of a fairy costume, for a little girl’s princess party, or just for an afternoon of dress-up. Crepe paper is the perfect material for these delicate little blooms that are meant to resemble apple blossoms and white cornflowers. For this floral headwreath project, you will need crepe paper, matching ribbon for the back of the wreath, and paper covered floral wire for the base of the wreath. The wreath is adjustable to fit any size of head, and because it is paper, it is a wonderful keepsake even after your event.
After you sign up for the Creativebug classes, you will have access to all the printable templates and materials lists for each project. Each craft comes with my easy-to-follow video tutorials to guide you through. Join me in making your DIY wedding as fabulous as it can be! Create a membership with Creativebug or opt for their two-week free trial to see if these projects are a good fit for you. Here is the best part: Creativebug has been generous enough to include me in offering an amazing giveaway! They are calling it the Wedded Bliss Giveaway, and it includes fantastic goodies like a six-month subscription to Creativebug, a custom calligraphy kit, tons of craft supplies, and even my Lia Griffith Cricut bundle! The drawing will happen on April 1, 2016, and you can enter to win below. Enjoy! ~ Lia
