Our clothespin dolls are such fun to create and so make the perfect Thanksgiving DIY for children. Todays download includes the printable patterns to make a cute Native American and Pilgrim set at home. Using natural wood clothespins, felt, paint and embroidery floss for hair, we created four little characters to welcome the Holiday season. The clothespins, wooden heads and stands are available online as a set which is super-convenient (shop this project below!), but you can also buy the parts separately at good craft stores. Use craft paint to paint simple faces onto the heads before assembling the wooden parts and secure with a low temperature glue gun. We used lengths of paper wrapped floral stem wire to make the arms and black embroidery floss for the hair. The feathered headbands and clothes were all made using our templates below and a selection of good quality felts. Simply download the PDF, print on to regular paper then cut out the templates. Draw around the templates onto your felt and trim with fabric scissors. Assemble all the pieces with a low temperature glue gun and your DIY clothespin dolls are ready to show off! You can follow our step-by-step tutorial below.
