DIY Fairy Princess Costume
Halloween is creeping up on us and so we have been busy little bees in the studio, creating fun DIY costumes for you to make at home. This week we have been sharing the patterns and tutorials for our felt fairy wand and felt flower crown and today sees us sharing the inspiration for the full fairy princess costume and the tutorial for the little fairy wings. This is a really simple DIY Halloween costume to make for your little one – or you can make one for yourself! There is minimal sewing needed making it the perfect DIY project for newbies or those with little time!
All you will need for this project is tulle fabric, fabric scissors, elastic, thread, a needle and a measuring tape. The costume works great with any favorite tee and dress it up with the DIY headband and wand and your little fairy princess is ready to go trick-or-treating! For the tulle shirt you can simply gather the layers of netting onto a elastic waist band. There are many options for tutorials on the internet or you may find the perfect tutu at your toy store. I designed the wings to be worn over the tee shirt and so that they are easy to move in and out of car seats. They are simply tulle layers sewn onto a pink elastic ribbon band. You can follow the simple steps below in our tutorial. Make sure to share photos of your little fairy with us! Follow us on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram to see what we’re sharing next. See you there!~ Lia
