Last week I was working on some new Christmas and Winter Holiday projects and started experimenting with gold paper and gold foil to make some festive paper feathers. Though they are perfect for some upcoming holiday posts, I am also loving them for Fall. Of course they make an gorgeous Autumn gift topper and these tiny paper sculptures are so pretty I framed three in a shadow box to hang in my studio. When I was experimenting with the gold foil, I found that the best method of getting the foil on the paper was double stick tape. I also am so glad I found you and your paper feathers on Pinterest, which led me to your blog, as well.
And glad I read the comments about your and her Feather Chandelier!
My closest girlfriend is an artist who recently designed her first tattoo for herself…. across her shoulder blades are feathers on a barbed wire clothes hanger. Now , I’m inspired to make her a physical replica with your feathers and a chandelier for her Xmas present, yay!

Still love your gold feathers, perhaps I’ll have chance to make some in New year. Now that craft show over can do more of what I want to. Had to get house cleaned up after show, neglected home keeping with making items for show. Not sure I’d want to do another craft show so close to holidays. But will see how I feel next year if they have show again.
Here I am from my new pc, have lots to learn how to use it. It’s quite a machine, have 23″ screen, 8.1 windows and lots more. Have spent last few days learning about how to use it with very well thought out how-to’s. Finally found how to get to my email and have new email address also. Eventually will be using it instead of present one.

Also did you gold leaf these or use gold metallic sharpie?
I did not provide a tutorial this time. I guess I should. I used a gold leaf foil and double sided scotch tape for these. I added the gold before I cut the tiny feather slits. I did try gold paint, which is similar to a sharpie, and did not like the results as well. After a few different methods, this was my favorite.
I want to make a chandelier out of these beautiful things! This is the sweetest! Found you through craftgawker cuz your cute project was right around mine! Now I’m a follower!

I am so glad I found your blog, I’m going batsy (short trip at my age) with all your exquisite feathers. So many possibilities to use them.
When I saw feathers from today’s post I was awe struck. I’ll be digging in my stash for papers that will enhance feather images. Think I have some gold and copper foil from years ago I never used. Now to find it, oh boy. The feathers are so gorgeous, not sure which way I love them most.
Can you tell me what kind of paper you use to make the ones you stamp on? I think you stamped on feather that looked like it had patterns on it like your background, so pretty. Also do you use dbl. sided printed papers for any of your feathers?
I’ve been working on making signs to sell but might have to take little break in between to make some feathers. Have a feeling it’s the kind of thing I’ll need to play with, use different patterns, papers to get better at it.
I never seem to think what I make is good enough compared to your creations, I seem to have super high standards.

Haha. Thanks for the laugh. The paper that looks stamped was actually printed with a gold pattern. I picked it up at Blick art supply store. Most of the papers are single sided, but they would work for any pretty paper, really. I will send this message to your email as well.
