Frosted Paper Peony
Lightweight paper is the material I picked when I started my paper flower designing journey over ten years ago. I had seen the stiff cardstock flowers of other designers but wanted to use a softer paper to create gently shaped and curled petals. I would often start with white printer paper and add a watercolor design on both sides with my little inkjet.
Then I remembered the option of this glorious frosted paper I had used on many graphic design projects, and I was hooked. The way the pearl sheen would give the illusion of color variations makes these flowers come to life.
For this project, we’ve selected the frosted paper packs from the Lia Griffith collection. However, we encourage you to utilize any light paper you have readily available. You can find the full list of tools and materials below.
Here’s a handy list of the tools and materials we used in the video. You can either stock up on these goodies from our shop or use paper and materials from your craft stash. We want you to make use of what you have on hand. And hey, during the video, we’ll even throw in some alternative options to keep things fun and flexible.
I am so excited to get started! Hit that play button, and let’s make some magic happen with paper!
Remember, you can watch the video as many times as you like and pause if you want to do a make-along.
