Handmade Paper Dogwood Branch
What better way to prepare for the spring season than by making yourself a vase of handmade paper flowers. Our paper dogwood branch is as pretty as the real deal, with soft pink tones and delicately curled petals. Using a selection of text weight papers, a couple markers and our printable pattern, you can achieve this perfect spring bloom project in an afternoon.

If you are cutting this pattern by hand, then begin by downloading the PDF below and printing out our templates. Trim to size and then follow our simple step-by-step tutorial. If you have a cutting machine, click on the SVG file and your pattern will be cut in minutes – simple simple! We colored the centers and edges of our petals with Tombow markers before curling and assembling our paper flowers. You’ll find that you can blend the ink beautifully with their blending tool – you can shop this project below!
Our top tip for creating gorgeously delicate paper blooms is to gently curl the edges of the petals before you assemble the bloom. Use your scissors, a pencil or wooden dowel to curl the rounded edges of each petal outwards. This creates a depth and dimension that brings each of these paper flowers to life. Similarly, you can add ‘life’ to the paper leaves by scoring a line down the middle and smaller lines from the center line out to the edge of each leaf using your scissors.

I too love this beautiful simple branch of Dogwood flowers. I plan to make it for a wedding shower coming up at work for one of our colleagues, however, I purchased the Tombow Art Markers as suggested in Blush and the “blending tool” that you referred to. The salesclerk was convinced the blending tool was just the clear marker, so that’s what I purchased. I get nothing but scribbled lines on my petals – no blending. Is there another tool? What am I doing wrong?

These are lovely–as always. I colored mine with pan pastels. It’s not the easiest to glue the flowers to the wire but I’m almost done and I’ll post a photo of my first branch–I put for on a small branch so I can work it into another bouquet.

I have been searching everywhere for something very similar but haven’t found exactly what I’m looking for. I received a Cricut Air for Christmas and am so excited to be learning how to use it. I was disappointed to find that my iPad would not support svg files. I have paid for a yearly membership and now I don’t know if I will be able to do any of your lovely projects.
Oh no! You should reach out to Cricut’s customer service about this, I think you might be able to use your iPad with an app. Or do you have a desktop or laptop computer you can use to download the files? Good luck!!
