Whether you work from home or not, having a dedicated workspace to get stuff done can help you be more productive. Because we’re a team of creatives, we want where we work to inspire us and motivate us. Thanks to our friends at Hayneedle, we were able to create this beautiful home office. If you want to know more, I’ve listed all the Hayneedle products below as well as the DIY projects that are in this room. I’ll also go over my design choices and why I picked certain colors for this workspace.

Getting Creative With Hayneedle

Since we film a lot of our videos here, we wanted to create a beautiful workspace where we could demonstrate our crafts and DIY projects. If you’ve joined us for Facebook Live or Instagram Live, this room should look familiar to you! Now onto my design choices…

Make Small Spaces Look Bigger & Brighter

Because my home office is small, I kept all the colors in this room light and sparkly. This also fits in with my love for Scandinavian design, which focuses on maximizing light in a room. I didn’t want to add any white, though, since the trim is a cream color. That’s why I chose this desk in dove grey. It’s still a light color but adds something a little different. Our DIY projects also look really great against the grey!

Use Furniture in Different Ways

In addition to finding ways to make a room feel more inviting, I also love to play around with furniture and use it in different ways. For example, I’m using Hayneedle’s dining chair as my desk chair. I’m also using their bar cart as a craft table for some of my tools and materials. I also put our gold oval basket from Hayneedle here, which is holding some of our DIY flowers. This cart keeps what I need nearby when making videos. Plus, it’s gorgeous! We love gold and geometric designs so this cart is a perfect fit for us.

Add Extra Storage & Display Home Decor

Speaking of gorgeous furniture… have you noticed the open shelving unit? (Also known as an etagere.) It adds so much elegance to the room! Plus it complements the cart with its glass shelves and gold finish. Since we’re short on space, adding this vertical bookcase gives us extra storage. It’s also a great way to display your home decor! I put my rectangular storage baskets from Hayneedle here along with some of my home decor. Can you spot the DIY project? We’re also using the etagere to display a few of our books, including our new Crepe Paper Flowers book. And those beautiful onyx bookends you see holding up our books are from Hayneedle.

Tie it All Together

Finally, I tied the workspace together with an area rug from Hayneedle. I like area rugs because they add instant warmth and personality to a room. Area rugs can also connect all the different pieces in your room and help you create a more unified look. This rug from Hayneedle comes in a few different colors and sizes. We went with the gray/ivory color and made sure to select a size that extends past our desk and chair.
