Donut BarSummertime is the perfect season to throw parties of all kinds. The days are longer, the weather is warmer, and the barbecue in the backyard is just waiting to be fired up! Whether you are organizing a Fourth of July celebration, birthday party, or family reunion, there is no doubt that hosting a donut bar would be a huge hit with your guests. Living in Portland, donuts have become very trendy. Of course, ice cream bars and cupcake bars have always been popular for summer parties, but I love that donuts offer a more unique option for a sweet handheld treat.

We started with our Donut Bar banner.  Use the download below to get the letters for your own banner! We used our Cricut to cut out each letter onto vinyl, and then stuck the vinyl directly onto the tiles. You can also cut out each letter by hand using the PDF version. To decorate the donut bar, we made simple fresh bouquets and stuck them into copper painted mason jars. To create personal donut servings, we made easy cones out of sandwich paper that we bought from a restaurant supply store. Download our “enjoy” and “yum” stickers below to stick onto your cones! Print the file onto white full sheet label paper and trim to size. After putting the donuts into a rustic wooden box, we dressed up the box and table with pretty copper string lights. We then set up our toppings station. For our toppings we included hazelnut chocolate spread, raspberry jam, Greek yogurt, and other goodies. We found those small wooden cartons that were perfect for our mixed nuts, cranberries, and white chocolate chips. It’s always good to mark what toppings are available in your spread, so download the editable PDF below to create your own toppings sign! To edit the text you will need to also download and install the free font Bebas Neue. We decided to add potato chips to our donut bar for a salty counterpart to our sweet treats. To finish off our set-up, we added some jars of milk with cute red and white striped straws.

Hosting a donut bar is a unique and easy way to set up some summer fun at any celebration! If you are interested in other party ideas, check out our lemonade bar or Fourth of July hot dog bar, both of which would be great pairings with a donut bar! Browse our Fourth of July section if you are looking for specific inspiration for the occasion, and follow us on Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook to see the projects that we are sharing daily. Enjoy your summer parties! ~ Lia
