What little girl doesn’t love finger puppets? It was one of my favorite past times as a child and yes. . . I would make my own. Today I want to show you how we made a set of finger puppets with my clear stamp sets! Recently we partnered with Hero Arts to create a collection of super-cute animal stamp and die cut sets. We had such a blast designing each character with their little outfits and accessories – can I admit to being totally in love? There’s Avery the Tiger, Oscar the Bear, Pierre the Monkey and Millie the Bunny. It’s a really playful clear stamp set that appeals to our sense of fun and because it’s so versatile you can make literally hundreds of different combinations.
We are always looking for new ways to craft and turning these stamps and die cuts into finger puppets for the little ones to play with seemed like a fab way to mix up how we use them. Each of our little finger puppets was created on card stock using my inks in a range of pastels, brights and jewel colors. We then used a variety of markers to add the tiny details like the polka dots on Millie’s handbag and the colors to Avery’s painting palette. Playing with these sets is just such fun, we were immersed in character creating for hours! Use the links above to purchase my stamp sets, inks and a clear acrylic block from Simon Says Stamp then once you have created your characters simply glue a small loop of sewing elastic band to the back to turn them into finger puppets – simple! If you use my animal stamp set to make something extraordinary then please do share with me! You can find me on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram, simply share your picture using the hashtag #liagriffith – I can’t wait to see what you’re making! Enjoy! ~ Lia
