We use a variety of materials to craft beautiful gifts for her, so if you’re having trouble thinking of what you can make, start by thinking about what gifts she’ll be able to use in her everyday life. Practical gifts always make great DIY gifts. If she is the trendsetter of the bunch, she might love having a new tote bag to use for work, grocery shopping or weekend trips. Our hello tote or creative iron-on designs are all fabulous fashion statements, or you can even sew up your own if you have a sewing machine. Sometimes the men in our life need a little help with their style or organizational skills, and the holidays are a perfect opportunity to create some functional and stylish DIY gifts for him as well. If you are comfortable with using a sewing machine, you can’t really go wrong with a minimalist leather wallet for the times that he wants to travel light (these wallets are also great for ladies!). Or, explore your knitting skills by making a simple ribbed wool scarf in a neutral color for winter. For the tablet carriers, we have a simple tutorial to make a tablet cover that you can customize to any size. DIY gifts that are related to specific hobbies are always thoughtful, these apron iron-ons are wonderful and easy gift items for the barbecue lovers in the family. We love designing projects for kids, so there are plenty of toys on the site that your little ones would love to receive. One of our favorite project series is our Play Kitchen Set, which includes a sink, oven and stove, plus tons of felt play food and kid’s aprons and oven mitts for the full experience. These projects may be time-consuming, but they make for some seriously fabulous DIY gifts! For your chemical conscious loved ones, we have a ton of recipes for all natural bath and beauty products. Our newest recipe is for our hydrating (and anti-aging!) facial toner. For a more luxurious gift, we have almond body scrub or whipped body butter, both of which include printable gift labels. Little beauty products can be great stocking stuffers, like some organic lip balm or a pretty container of lavender bath salts. Feel free to make some of these DIY gifts for yourself too! We always keep a pump bottle of our homemade lotion in the studio for quick hydration. DIY jewelry is a great gift option because it is guaranteed to be unique. It is so easy to customize these projects for DIY gifts! We’ve been making a lot of jewelry projects lately (they are pretty popular amongst the ladies in the studio…!), and our newest ideas for DIY gifts include our painted clay necklacesmacrame knot necklace and copper leaf and acorn necklaces for fall. Copper has been super trendy in the last two years, and we have loved showing off our necklaces made with copper tubing. Leather tassel necklaces pair well with fall and winter outfits, and if you’re feeling inspired by finds in your local hardware store, metal washer bracelets are great for a bold fashion statement. You can even hand stitch a felt jewelry pouch for gifting your jewelry projects.

Paper Botanical Gifts

There is a lot of hustle and bustle around the holidays, and usually you’ll end up attending at least one dinner party. Of course, we have a ton of paper flower and botanical projects on the site, and they are perfect to give as host or hostess gifts. Our favorite hostess gifts are any of the beauties from our Potted Plant Series, including our new fiddle leaf fig plant using our extra fine crepe paper. If you want to stick with a holiday theme, amaryllis flowers are traditional Christmas blooms, and we have a versions made with either crepe paper or metallic paper. Poinsettias are also classic for the season, and they can be stunning gift toppers. You can also go all out for someone special by making an entire holiday wreath, like a frosty felt wreath, evergreen wreath or holly berry wreath.
