We’ve got a new paper craft for kids today! These paper koi fish are so fun to make and a great way to get creative. Kids can make them in all kinds of colors and draw on them however they’d like.
To help you craft these paper koi fish, we’ve created a video tutorial for you to follow along with. You can also find the template at the end of the post. This is a simple enough pattern to cut by hand. Or you can always use our SVG cut file if you want to use your cutting machine instead.
Playing koi
Our paper koi fish is perfect for imaginative play. Or another idea is to use put little treats in their mouths and use them as party decor or party favors. You could even label each fish with a name!
In addition to being a cute DIY craft, koi fish symbolize strength, patience, peace, and perseverance. They are also known to be a symbol of good luck. So if you’re crafting these koi fish with your little ones, you can let them know about these qualities and the meaning behind what they are making.
When you’re ready to craft your paper koi fish, our video tutorial will walk you through each step. You will also see how we use paint markers to add the scales as well as more detail to the mouth, fins, and tail.
