Crafting Miss Daisies
We made our daisies using our new Cricut Maker cutting machine, but feel free to cut using the older Cricut Explore Air or a good old fashioned pair of scissors. Gather your supplies and follow along our simple step-by-step photo tutorial for daisy divinity! More Midwestern magic coming soon…
Steps
- Gather the tools and materials listed above.
- Cut out the paper pieces according to the pattern (cutting machine recommended).
- Crease the center of each petal using the edge of a pair of scissors.
- With the edge of the scissors, curl the tips of the yellow flower center inward.

Hi, I had to change the score lines on the SVG to “score” on my maker in Design Space because they came up as “cut”. Hopefully it turns out, was this the right thing to do? I’m thinking because of all the updates that Cricut has done, maybe the SVG file is out of date, so to speak?
Hi! Correct, you will have to do that for any SVG file you download from our site. We’re no aware of any way to automatically set that up in an SVG file (maybe one day there will be the capability!)
I have downloaded 3 paper flowers and none of them will open up as an svg file. Comes up as an error. Don’t know what is wrong. They come up as a Chrome file, but it opens in all three as an error.
Help please.

Dear Lia, I love these flowers but the score lines don’t appear when I use the SGV files on my Maker. What am I missing? Thanks!
That’s bizarre! I just uploaded a new SVG file with the score lines grouped differently– check that one out to see if they appear.
Found you by chance and oh my love everything you do especially your videos such a calming voice. Have become a member and excited to start creating. Just need to do a bit of shopping and hope I can find the right products as I live in Scotland

I love, love these daisies! But have a favor to ask, is it possible to add score lines to the AVG file. When I make them, I make several at a time and spend a huge amount of time scoring the petals. It would be a great time saver for everyone. Thank you for considering this.

Good point– the lines have been added to the SVG file 🙂
Just checking to see if there was a reason on the original file that there were six petal , two of each size, but when the file was scored as I requested, and I much appreciated, there were only three sets of petals rather the original six. Being a newbie, when I tried to duplicate the three sizes to make it like the original six, the score lines did not appear on the three that I added. If not possible to gave the six layers scored on the schedule. I hope I am not asking too much. Thanking you in advance.

I just checked the original file and it only has 3 sets of petals. Is it possible you added the SVG file twice, and it duplicated it? Each simple daisy only requires 3 petals, but you can select the petals and score lines, then copy and paste them if you’d like to cut more than 3 at a time. Or you can change the quantity of the cuts after you hit “Make it”! Hope that helps 🙂
