New pillow covers are a great way to change out your decor seasonally. Plus they’re so easy to make! For our celestial theme this month, we created a moon phases pillow using heat transfer vinyl and a lumbar pillow cover.

You can do the same using our iron-on design below. As always, we recommend using a cutting machine and our SVG file for iron-on projects. But you can always use our template to cut this project by hand.

Lumbar Phase

Each month the moon passes through different phases. To capture some of them for our moon phases pillow, we used a long lumbar pillow in navy to emulate the night sky. We love how the rose gold looks against the navy, but you could always use a heat transfer vinyl in gold or silver. Another idea is to use a black pillow cover instead of blue — the choice is yours!

When you’re ready to make your moon phases pillow, just grab the colors you like for your pillow cover and iron-on. And once your design is cut, you can simply transfer it over with an iron or EasyPress. Have questions? Just comment below!
