Bring them out for birthdays, Mother’s Day, or any other occasion that could use a homemade touch.

These Paper Spring Flower Cake Toppers lean more toward styling than complicated construction, making them perfect for emerging makers. A cutting machine or sharp scissors will keep your shapes crisp and consistent. Use a shaping tool or bone folder to add subtle curves to your petals, and assemble your cardstock flowers with wooden skewers and adhesive so you can adjust placement as you go. From there, play around with height and placement until the arrangement feels just right.
What makes these cake toppers so fun is their flexibility. With our colorful collection of sturdy cardstock, your options are limitless. Think sweet and pastel for Easter brunch or keep the palette soft and romantic for a spring shower. A few petite blooms can create a delicate accent, while a fuller grouping makes a cake feel instantly dressed for the occasion.
After the dessert has been served, the flowers don’t have to disappear with it. Clean them off and save them for the next special occasion. We always love a craft that keeps on going long after the party is over.
If you’re ready to add a fresh, floral finish to your spring table, these Paper Spring Flower Cake Toppers are a lovely place to start. When you’ve styled your own, share them in the crafters’ community and on social using #MadeWithLia. Besides, who says you can’t have your cake and make it beautiful too?

Leave a CommentI wanted something fast to make for my husband to have first thing in the morning on his birthday, he is a Type 1 diabetic so no cake. Never know what his blood sugar is going to be so decided to put them in a pot with floral foam and moss and really turned out cute. Thanks once again for coming thru with a great idea and a quick one at that!
Alex
That is so sweet! It is hard not to smile when looking at these cute flowers. 🙂 Share pics in the community space.
Just posted. People will think I am crazy – but it’s true.😊
So cute! I love the colors you picked. More “manly”. lol
Could you please help with instructions on how to actually put these together? I am new to paper flowers and my daughter would like these flowers on her wedding cake. The link above in the comments for mini flower cupcake toppers and wrappers doesn’t work. Thank you
Hi Cathy,
Sorry, we do not have detailed instructions for this project. You simply cut out the flower petals and leaves from the pattern then curl the petals up and use hot glue to attach them to toothpicks. Stack the flower petals as you attach them to the toothpicks then add the leaves using hot glue further down.
Thank you for your detailed reply Lia, much appreciated! Cheers, Cathy.
Hi, as Silhouette machine do not support svg file, can you advise how can i convert it to jpg, png, gif file for cutting? Thank you.
Hi Emily! You’ll need the designer edition software for Silhouette in order to convert SVG files. Silhouette’s customer service should be able to help you!
I am making these for my nans cake, would normal paper work fine?
Yep! These are made with text-weight paper.
Are there any instructions on how to actually put these together? I am new to the paper flower world but would love to have this detail on my wedding cupcakes!
Hi! We don’t have step-by-step tutorials for these flowers. We have another similar project that has more photos and some detailed instructions that may help! https://liagriffith.com/mini-flower-cupcake-toppers-and-wrappers/
when I click on the svg file to download – it brings up a page of jibberish…. ??
Hmm that’s weird! You might try a different web browser?
Question: Do you make the flowers for the cake the same size as the cupcakes? The size of the svg file? Thanks
Hi Betty! Yes, but you can make the cake flowers a bit larger if you’d like, depending on the size of the cake.
So lovely, Beautiful. Made my day so fresh@!!!!!!
Thank you!
So very pretty!
Thank you!
