Meet Meagan
Your Master Class Instructor & Paper Plant Artist: Meagan joined the Lia Griffith studio nearly eight years ago, bringing with her a rich background in display design and some early experience with paper flowers. What started as a creative foundation has blossomed into true mastery—Meagan has grown into one of the most talented paper flower and plant artists we've ever seen.
Since joining our team, Meagan has dove deep into the art of paper crafting, taking on the exciting challenge of creating the most realistic paper flowers and plants using cardstock and crepe paper. Her love for the craft and her exceptional eye for detail add a quiet depth and grace to every bloom and botanical piece she creates.
Her work truly embodies the spirit of slow crafting—she understands that the magic happens in the details, the subtle color variations, the gentle imperfections that make paper plants look like they could have grown from actual soil. Her display design background gives her an innate understanding of how these pieces will live and breathe in your space.
In this master class, you'll discover Meagan's secrets for creating paper plants so realistic, even she sometimes forgets they're not real. Her patient teaching style and methodical approach make even the most intricate techniques accessible to crafters of all levels.
We feel so lucky to share her incredible talent with you.

Is the tutorial still available to print? I only got through lesson 6 so far.
Hello Dina! We will have this in the second round starting December 1.
Not sure what’s happening. I purchased this class and started it in August, but then got very busy prepping for a craft show and didn’t finish it. I have the printed content, but wanted to watch the videos for the last three plants (Monstera, Snake Plant, and Orange Tree). I click on the links but nothing happens. Am I no longer able to access them?
Hello Suzann! This class is not an additional purchase for annual and craft circle members, but an extra bonus. We do have the class for sale in our shop, but I am guessing that is not what you are referring to. https://feltpaperscissors.com/product/paper-plants-master-class/
For our new master classes, we run them for two months, then pause. This class will be available as a second run on December 1.
I didn’t realize that I would not have access to this Master Class indefinitely. I was hoping to finish the orange tree over the holidays. Is there any other way for me to get access without having to join the Craft Circle?
We will have the class available again on December 1.
I used blue painters tape as a substitute for washi tape – worked great! 🙂
Yes! That is even better (and cheaper) than washi tape. 🙂
IT has been a JOY to work on this Master Class ( slowly) for the past 7 weeks.I am keeping a few but most have been crafted with a family or friend in mind who I am sure will LOVE their plant. Thank You to Meghan whose beautiful smile and easy to follow videos makes this course achievable for all levels of crafters and to everyone else at Lia Griffith who had a hand in the development and implementation of this great Master Class.
Thank you, Donna! We are delighted to hear that you enjoyed this class. THAT is why we create them. 🙂
Hi, Summer is such a busy time for me—any chance the Paper Plant Master Class will remain on site past September? I would love to complete it! Please and thank you 1
We will finish the class at the end of September, but it will be available again very soon. We have more wonderful things coming, so we need to make some space. 🙂
Hello, I have really enjoyed making all of these wonderful plants, and I have received many compliments on how real they look! I found Meghan’s videos to be very informative and easy to follow, and I very much appreciate the expanded tutorials. Thank you to one and all for an excellent Master Class!
You are so welcome! So happy to hear you enjoyed this class.
Hello, I really enjoy Megan’s teaching style. There were a couple of things that I was confused about or just missed through the instructions for the Monstera. The first was which side of the Fern and Moss to cut side up. I chose the darker side. But when I was working on putting on the bind wire, I got confused about which side on all of them to glue the wire to. Also, I missed that only half the leaves get the wiring on them, saving the other half for covering the bind wire, and when she said , “complete the other leaves the same way,” I glued together all 4 sets of leaves instead of just two. Luckily, I had enough Fern and Moss to cut another set. I also use my Cricut.
Anyway, I don’t know if anyone else struggles with my issues, but thought it might be worthy to mention this.
Thank you so much for your input Lu Ann! You can cut either side up just be consistent and cut the same side up for all. As for the confusion in wiring the leaves I will add some notes to the photo tutorial to make this more clear for future crafters 🙂
Thank you!
I did this, too… and had to order more DS crepe paper. I enthusiastically made more leaves with the bind wire before I realized they had another side.
What’s the best way to cut out the small holes in the leaves when cutting the pattern by hand?
I would recommend using a detail knife on a cutting mat!
Can you help me count the leaves on the Orange Tree? Megan said to cut 20 small and 20 large. That makes 40 leaves total. You have 3 branches with 1 orange (10 leaves each, because you also have 2 leaves for each orange, which = 30 leaves total), 1 branch with 2 oranges (12 leaves total), and then 2 branches with 5 leaves each (10 leaves total). That comes out to needing 52 leaves total. But the instructions say to cut 40 total. How am I ending up needing 12 more leaves? What am I doing wrong?
Hi Whitney, I will go through and double check those numbers. It is possible you will need to make more leaves, but you should have plenty of crepe paper to do so! 🙂
Yes I ended up short and used up all my glossy mod podge. I’ll have to cut some more…
I’m sorry you found the instructions confusing, we have updated the workbook to make it clearer that you only need to wire 6 leaves.
I’m so behind but I’m enjoying the videos! I’m finishing a bouquet with all the crepe paper MC flowers that I’m giving away and after that I’ll continue with the class. I did finished the Maidenhair Fern and potted it, will post pics later on the community but I can already tell these are going to look great all over my place and can’t wait to show them off!
Thanks Meagan, Lia and team for all the knowledge pour into these classes!
Look forward to seeing the photos of your finished plants!
hello, I am unable to open any of the plants past palm… Can you assist with this? I want to make the monstera and snake plant, ahead of the palm
thanks much
Make sure you are selecting the complete button after each lesson, this will unlock the next lesson for you.
Got my certificate!
Again, this Master Class and Meagan were fantastic.
Lia and team, absolutely adore all that you do!!!
Yay!
It’s a great class. It will be great for beginners to learn as it is not too complicated.Paper plants easier too learn than some of the crepe paper flowers especially the ones with a lot of petals . Thank you Megan ,Lia and the team for another interesting master class.I hope that a lot of people enjoy it . As you know making paper flowers and plants can help you to chill out while making them .
Thank you, Donna! You are so right that crafting can bring peace of mind. Double benefits since you have a pretty plant to show for it. 🙂
This has been such a fun Masterclass. Megan’s relaxed pace was easy to follow and the workbook is a wonderful resource for future plant making. One suggestion, when doing the supply list, it would be helpful if you designate specific types of items like the Mod Podge which was many varieties. Megan, I’m looking forward to your next Masterclass. Thank you for all your hard work.
Yes, having the list of materials for each plant is a great idea! More master classes coming!
This was a wonderful class. Megan was so good-very precise in covering every detail. I watched as she taught and now can get busy working on my plant collection. Thank you so much Megan and Lia and team. I love hanging out with you!
We love hanging out with you too!!
Really enjoyed Meagan as an instructor. This class was wonderful. Thanks to all for making this possible!!!
Will there be a Certificate of Achievement/Completion for this class like Master Classes in the past?
We are adding one now for you!
Thanks. I spiral bind my workbook and love to include my certificate. Where and when will it be available? Thanks again!
What an amazing course! I am almost finished with everything and will be sending pictures soon! I Love all the new skills I learned and adore the new additions to my plant collection. Thank you so much for this!
Look forward to seeing your photos, Sara! (and to see you in a few weeks too)!!
There are 2 plants that are scored. With the Palm, Megan specifically said the front is where the score lines are (technically the score lines should be in the back with the way you fold the leaves forward). With the Philodendron, she didn’t specify which side was front and which was back. When you fold on a score line, you are supposed to fold away from the score line. Folding towards the score line defeats the purpose of a score line. I created my plants folding towards the score line as Megan showed in the video. However, when I was done, I didn’t see any reason the paper needed to be folded towards the score instead of away. In fact, it made it harder to fold when doing it that way. I want to make more plants but I want to fold away from the score line to make it easier. I wanted to see if there was a visual or structural reason Megan folded towards the score instead of away before I make more. Thanks!
You can fold away from the score lines, just be sure that the front frond with the top leaves is glued with the folds up on top of the back piece with no top leaves. I always like to use the score lines as a guide for people when adding color which makes it so they need to be on the front of most leaves!
Are you going to keep this master class open a little longer. I sure would appreciate it. Thanks.
Yes, it will be open at least through September.
What fun this course has been. I still need to make a few of the plants, but they are cut and ready. Thanks so much for planning this all out for us!
So happy to hear that you have enjoyed this master class. We loved creating it for you all. 🙂
Would the burnt sienna be an acceptable substitute for the burnt sienna shade?
Yes, that should work.
I really appreciate the detailed workbook with photo tutorials. While I am watching the lessons, I am not able to craft along this month, so I love that you put together a detailed workbook so that I can have a nice refresher when I am able to come back and do this in a few months. Thank you!
So happy these added details are helpful. You will have at least another month to review the videos.
I love the worksheets as well. I sometimes craft while watching TV with hubby and I can remind myself of what was covered in the video by reviewing the worksheet.
This will be our standard moving forward!
For the Mostera, which side did you glue the veining to? In the video the finished plant sometimes looks more brown on top, sometimes more green! (And oops, I got excited and glued wire to all my leaf A parts not realizing half of them were to be saved to glue on top. I’ll cut some more!)
You can glue it to either side!
I did the same thing and had to cut out more. Oh well, I ended up with 2 plants lol
A happy “accident”!
Regarding the maidenhair fern, I had to give up on it (with plans to start over later) because the joints/branches were too small and fragile, so they kept bending and breaking off.
If some of the side sprigs are bending you can add some additional bind wire to them as support.
For the Palm plant, I am having trouble matching the cut pieces for what appears to be designated as D. Has this happened to anyone else and/or has this issue been resolved? Thanks.
Hi Wendy, did you cut out using the svg and a cutting machine or by hand using the PDF?
SVG
For the SVG the palms that are grouped together and cut on a single 12×12 piece of paper go together.
Sorry if this question has already been asked. I tried to read through the comments to see if it had already been answered, but there are so many! Megan mentioned the sizes of the pots she used for the cardstock plants, but didn’t say the size of the pots for the crepe paper ones. Can I get the size of the pots Megan used for the Monstera, Snake, and Orange Tree? THANKS!
We used pots ranging in size from 4-6 inches for all plants! I will update the workbook pages for lesson 3 to include the size pot we used for each plant tomorrow 8/18.
My August is getting away from me rapidly and just wondering how long will this class be available to catch up with
We will have it open through September. 🙂
My cricut is destroying the maidenhair ferns during the cuts. I’m using the heavy cardstock setting and a standard grip mat, any other hot tips?
Oh no! Have you replaced the blade?
I hadn’t considered that, thank you! How often do you replace yours, with the volume of projects you do?
You can check your blade tip to see if it feels dull or if the point is broken. We change ours about every two weeks or so. Depending on the types of projects we do. We buy blades in bulk. 🙂
I find if I wad up some aluminum foil and poke the blade in t numerous time it keeps my blade sharper and free of any debris.
Great tip! Thanks for sharing!
Highly recommend this class. It’s been such fun and am already getting raves from family for the maidenhair and the palm. Thank you for the concise directions and videos!
You are so welcome!
Hello again, it maybe because I haven’t got the exact same card but I am finding my maidenhair leaves without the bind wire are drooping more than yours, Meagan. Do you think there may be some value in adding bind wire to those side sprigs too to help prop them a bit more?
If you are using a cardstock that is any thinner than what we used you may have some drooping. You could definitely add more bind wire to the side sprigs for more stability!
Thanks, I have tried the additional bind wire on the longer sprigs and it works well, as long as you position it carefully.
I have greatly enjoyed these Master Class lessons. There is a wealth of information in each one and the printable materials are presented in a handsome format.
I’d never used crepe paper before and the class gift certificate made it possible for me to purchase items I might never have considered before. The mix of Cricut/hand cutting patterns lets someone like me who doesn’t have the Maker machine see how pleasurable quality crepe paper is to work with.
This class alone was well worth my annual membership. Thanks, Team Lea!
Wow! We love to hear this feedback! Thank you for sharing. 🙂
I think the photo tutorials in this Master Class are especially helpful and well done. My one thought would be, for photos with the darker leaved plants, a lighter background mat (maybe light grey) would make it easier to see the different stages of construction.
I think you are right! We are looking for new mats and will definitely keep color in mind.
Great
I’m really enjoying the format of this class. I’m almost able to keep up! I was almost ready to let my subscription lapse. I’m so glad I didn’t. Besides, it brings me such joy why would I want to stop!
Thanks for this and all the classes!
So happy this reminded you how much you LOVE to create. 🙂 We are so happy to have you here.
Enjoying watching all the videos. Meagan gives very clear instructions. I am in the process of moving my craft room from the basement to the main floor. I am hoping to start making plants soon.
Question for Lia – I took the Paper Flowers Masterclass Volume 2 and you recommended zipper pouches for the binder. I can’t remember where I ordered them from. Do you have a recommendation?
I just found them on Amazon, but you can also check your local office supply store.
Great thanks!
I really love this class. The directions are so clear and the results are fun. I love adding plants to my home that I don’t have to water. And they are so realistic.
Just wait till you see our paper greenhouse wall in our studio. Some are pretty basic, but fun to see how they have developed. 🙂
I love monstera!!! I can’t wait to do it 😍
My favorite! 🙂
Another great class. Thank you!
You are welcome!
Anyone else having trouble getting the gold hoop to stand up? I’m about ready to turn this into a garland or something 😂
Yes, you have to really secure it in there with extra wires.
Hello: Do you prefer Cotton over Denim for doublets?
We use cotton for the double-sided and denim for the heavy. Crepe paper works great for extra-fine.
Piggybacking: should the pressure setting for denim for the heavy crepe be “more” or “default”?
Thanks!
I usually use the default, but it depends on how sharp your blade is. Try a small sample piece.
Can a Posca pen be used instead of the Ohuhu acrylic marker?
Yes, Posca is a good option.
Meagan does such a great job explaining every step in creating these paper plants. I’m waiting for my card stock to arrive so for now I’m just watching the videos. Thanks Meagan!
Yay! Love hearing that!!
This is one I think you could use for a lot of things – 3 leaves with a flower for a gift topper, a wreath with flowers. So many thoughts. Hope I can make them look as beautiful as Meagan does!
Yes! There are so many options. 🙂
Hi. I am trying to figure out what weight the cardstock is. I live in Denmark and we use the metric system, and i cant find out how to correct convert the weight from LBS to GSM, there is apparently a difference between text and cover. ( i am totally lost -HELP)
The weight can vary. Do not worry about the specific grams, just how it feels in your hand. What we sell in our shop is more about the color than the exact weight.
Great. Does it have a texture or is it smooth?
We prefer smooth, but if you can only find textured, that will work as well.
Thank you so much. I love making your flowers, the only downside is that it is difficult to get the extra fine crepe paper, so i use the italien brand in 90 gsm instead. But with some ajustments i can even make some of the flowers with 180 gsm.
Yes, we are working to get better shipping to EU so everyone can have what we use. It really makes a difference. But I am sure you are making the crepe you have into gorgeous flowers.
I have another question for the bind wire. The bind wire i can find has a diameter of 2mm. In your material list it is 26 gauge, but is it only the wire, or the whole thing? (i hope you understand, english is not my first language)
I am going to guess that it is very similar. It is more about the thickness of the paper wrap and if it will work well when using it for paper plant making. Can you compare it visually from what you are seeing in the video?
Hi! Where did you get your floral foam and what size is it? I have been looking but I can’t seem to find a good quality foam that won’t fall apart. Thanks so much!
We got our from a floral wholesale market. The FloraCraft wet foam bricks work well, you can cut them down to size and then fill any remaining space with paper towels. You should be able to find those at any larger craft store like Michaels.
I can only get the 1st 2 lessons. 3,4,and 5 are locked. Lesson 6 it says is on the 11th. Any way that theses can be unlocked. I am signed in. Thanks, Barb
You need to mark each lesson as complete to unlock the next lesson. The “mark complete” button should be just under the video.
Hi Lia,
i just access to Materials &tips to guide you. The rest are locked. Is it normal?
You need to select “join the class” Then you will have access to lesson 1 and it’s downloads. You will then need to select “mark complete” for the next lesson to become available.
I’m madly trying to catch up, I’m ready for lesson 4. We lost our WiFi for 4 days and so I’m behind in everything. I am however glad to return and this class has enabled me to get back in the groove. It’s sort of like painting when you’ve been idle you have to get the feel of the brushes. Loving the class, great job as usual MEGAN.
It would be very helpful to know how many packs of double sided crepe paper to get. I had some left and just got a new pack only to find I need another pack or two. It would save on shipping costs.
Yes you will need two folds of the ferns and moss, if you ordered from the bundle it included two packs but we will update the materials list to make that clearer.
Where can I find the svg cut files for the plants that are made from cardstock?
All of the templates are in the folder together. When you download and unzip, everything is there for you.
Things are going to take me a bit longer than normal to get these plants done for my art studio. A wood sliver, under my thumb nail, created a hole to the bone and the nail had to be removed yesterday. Your thumb is so important! I had just started coloring the maidenhair branches. You never know when something comes up at the most inopportune time.
Oh no! Speedy recovery. You will have extra time with this master class. 🙂
Hi, on the pdf templates, on the fern, the circle of the “A” label of one of the leaves is misplaced (covering the C of cut instead) . Could you fix it?
Thanks for letting us know, the template has been updated!
Great 🙂 thanks. Now in the process of making the palm. I really like it. (By the way the error was on the palm, not on the fern, but you got it anyways)
Looking forward to see the next plant lesson
Excited to make this plant!
Love hearing that!
I want to order my supplies so that they will be here when I return from vacation. Can I have them shipped to a neighbor’s house while I’m gone?
Sure! As long as your neighbor knows, that should work out.
I’m having a hard time finding the cylindrical floral foam. Where did you get yours? Everything I see is only an inch or two high. 🙂
We bought a box at the flower wholesale house. Looking on Amazon, they only sell the shorter versions, but they can be stacked easily to create the right height.
I’m loving this class so far. I loved all the design notes about potting and the creative use of the bind wire. The instructions are so clear and thorough. It’s easy to follow. I’m delighted to have such low care plants in my home. Now if only I could do the same for my garden!
I’m so glad you are enjoying the class!
I love hearing this, Linnaea!
The cardstock was back ordered so I had to use what I had on hand. Can someone let me know the colors for each plant? such as sage ,celery etc. I used a celery for the fern. just the cardstock plants.
Thanks so much!
1
The cardstock is now back in stock! The colors are listed on the templates, and you can see the cardstock colors in our shop if you are trying to color match with what you have on hand.
Thank you I appreciate it!
OOH! I actually gave a little squeal of excitement when I saw the Maidenhair lesson was ready…. and the photo tutorial is so good! Now on to watch the video!
Yay!! That made me smile. 🙂
What type of floral foam is used? It seems to sculpt nicely – is it wetfoam?
Yes, it is the softer floral foam.
Any suggestions for another brand of the Krylon UV spray. I can’t get it in UK and am finding it very hard to work out what an equivalent would be thats safe for paper
Try looking for a fixative spray, you should be able to find it at any shop that sells high quality art supplies.
I have pastel fixative I’ve used for panpastel but that doesn’t claim to protect from uv fading
That might work. You can test a piece of lilac or one of the pale pinks in the sun and see what happens.
Hi!
Question, the template says to cut out 10 orange circles for each orange, but the SVG has 56. Shouldn’t it be in multiples of 10? Am I missing something?
Thanks!
I just filled out the page so you would have a few extra if needed. I have since adjusted the SVG to only have 50 ovals for less confusion.
Go it!
I was planning on cutting it this evening, so thanks for getting back to me so quickly.
I’m enjoying this class very much and already learned a lot. I can’t wait for the next lesson!
Good afternoon! As always, great class with helpful materials & tips to reference. Nicely organized! How long after Aug 20 will members have access to this class? I am hoping to have the opportunity to catch up after missing a week to care for grandkids.
Thanks to all who have made this class possible!
Yes! You will have access to finish this class for sure. We are planning to leave it for at least a few months, if not longer. We will see where everyone is at the end of the month.
Just wondering. Before I make a mistake, should the Maidenhair fern parts be left on the mat and color added before removing?
Nope! You can remove them, we will be adding color to both sides.
Never mind. I found the SVG files in the second class. Thanks for this class!!
Oh good!
Hello….I’m looking forward to this class. I just have question. Are there SVG files for the plants? I only see PDF files.
Yes! Everything is in the downloadable folder.
My first master class – as it happens and it is so fun. It is well documented, Meagan is great and the anticipation has added to the experience. Plus it organizes me!
Thanks to all of you
Thank Alexandra! We can’t wait to see all of the plants everyone makes.
Good morning. I can’t seem to get Design Space to add the svgs to the canvas. Software is updated. Image has been uploaded. Am I missing something? Been a year since I used my Cricut due to hand surgeries. I just can’t seem to get it loaded to the canvas. Thanks.
Be sure you have unzipped the file, this is a common mistake and the file will not upload if you haven’t!
I am having trouble seeing the videos. Usually I can enlarge the video to full screen. Is it possible to have the option to enlarge to full screen?
You should be able to enlarge the video to full screen in the bottom right corner of the video player.
I have noticed that you have to click on the < in the bottom right corner to see the usual controls to enlarge the screen
Yes we noticed that and have since fixed the layout of the page so the videos now appear larger, I hope this helps with the confusion!
I thought these lessons were going to be available early on each release date, but today’s (Aug 4th) says “Only 3 hours left” at 10:30 AM Eastern Time?
Also, I’m not receiving any reminder emails regarding this class. Have you stopped sending them? I remember getting more notifications with previous master classes.
As always, I LOVE all the crafting opportunities available here at liagriffith.com!! Thanks!
So sorry we are getting that fixed and all videos should be available first thing in the morning on the release date going forward.
It’s OK, I’ve sorted my previous query. I managed to Ungroup each main group one at a time, and then locate the black line section and convert to score lines for each mat and then reattach the group. Initially it was easy to get a bit lost with all the groupings!
Happy to hear you sorted it out. I’m always looking for an easier way to group everything for you all to find, let me know if you have suggestions! In the meantime I will take a look at the SVG file to see if there is anything I can change.
Im wondering if naming the different layers would help as they are grouped (eg score line framework), although as soon as they are reattached our end the name would be lost. One of my DS bugbears!
We wish we could. When we name the layers, they are all deleted with the Cricut software. That would make things so much easier.
Unrelated but had to chime in..
I feel your frustration Lia, remember there was a very short lived period where we could not only name the layers but also add “actions” and design space would automatically read them, No need to select layers to score or draw, it would all be there when uploaded. Then there came a big update and it went out the window and I don’t think anyone had been able to replicate it. 🫠
Ha! I know for a fact that Cricut would prefer people use their files and not outside designers. Remember when they were going to put a paywall for uploads? And there was a huge outrage. I am happy they dropped that update.
Hello again,
I am struggling to work out the best way to change the lines on the palm plant to score without having to do each of them individually, which will be very time consuming and risk a bit of movement. On one or two leaves I have managed to change them as a group but on others they separate individually.
Is there a straightforward way to Ungroup, Set to Score, and then reattach that I haven’t worked out?
Can’t wait to get started making all these plants. I have 1 question. The file for the orange tree says mango for the oval piece but the material lists says poppy and Megan says poppy in the video. Which should be used?
We will get that template updated ASAP, you should be using Poppy!
Hello! This may have been covered but here goes. I noticed you are using a Cricut 4. I have a 3 and almost every time I try to cut crepe paper it tears up my cutting mat unless it is a very basic shape. I’ve adjusted all kinds of settings but no luck. What are the settings for the crepe paper on the Cricut 4? Maybe I can add it as a setting and try it. Sooo excited about this new class!!
Hi Mary, I use either the Maker or Maker 3 daily and these settings are working great for me. If you are finding that it is tearing up your mat you can use less pressure. I usually stick with the Crepe Paper and cotton setting when cutting crepe and just adjust the pressure as needed. You could also try calibrating your machine to see if that helps.
The colour template for the orange tree says Mango extra fine, but the video says Poppy?
We will get that template updated ASAP, you should be using Poppy!
Just a thought- include a Print Then Cut file for the Cricut of all the labels on the workbook and sleeves. I’m battling neuropathy from chemo and some days it’s difficult to do detail cutting. Hopefully this class can help my fingers recover!
Thats a great idea cheryl and we will add it to our list!
Why isn’t my downloads downloading? Some I can cut by hand, but there are several that I will want to cut on my Cricut.
Lu Ann
The SVG files to use with your cricut are available to download in lesson two!
Hi, I am looking forward to making these wonderful houseplants. If you will permit me here to request another project that I would love to make it is the hanging flower backdrop that is behind Meagan in her picture which shows her working on this class. It looks so colorful and would be a great addition to my bare wall. Thanks for being such an inspiration!
Thanks Frances! We also love the backdrop, we had it made for an event many years ago and have enjoyed it ever since. We have had many request for this and it is on our to do list!
Hia Lia and team… the PDF for the Orange tree is slightly confusing to me. The circle for the Orange is labelled a leaf but it says to cut 10 per orange (or is that per tree like the rest of the leaves? – I assume that we are cutting for 5 oranges per tree going by the number of spun balls… ? ) and its telling me to cut in extra fine mango 🙂 Can you please clarify for me how many we need to cut? 10 or 50 🙂
(sorry – it would be easier if we could look at the tutorial for clarity but because we are cutting in advance, its harder to check!)
Hi Nicola, We have updated the PDF Template. You should be using extra-fine poppy crepe paper for the orange ovals. We have also labeled those to make it less confusing “orange ball covers”. You need to cut 10 per orange and we will be making 5 oranges, cut 50 poppy ovals.
Hi,
is a cardstock with a weight of 80 Ib could be suitable. A lot of trouble finding 65 Ib in Belgium.
kind regards
Murielle
If that is what is available to you I think you could make it work! The palm plant may be a bit tricky to fold on the score line with that weight of paper due to the small size of the leaves but if you have a scoring tool to fold over like we do in the video I think you should be okay!
Its ok a see the files on the second lesson.
Hi Lia can you please send us the template compatible to download on the cricut machine?
The SVG files are available to download in lesson two!
Wow Meagan – you have slayed it! Thank you so much for creating this amazing class.
So happy you are enjoying! I am reading your comment out loud to her, as I type. 🙂
It’s finally here!
Been waiting for plants to decorate my house and these are perfect and lovely.
Cutting everything tonight and tomorrow starting putting it all together!
Thanks Meagan, Lia and team for all the work put into this MC 😍
You are so welcome! More to come. 😉
Where are the SVG files to cut with the machine? Did I miss something?
The SVG Files are in Lesson 2!
Is it possible to watch the video’s in full screen?
Updated and ready for you to enlarge! 🙂
Is there a way to enlarge the lesson video screen?
Yes! It is now updated so that you can enlarge.
I’m cutting out the cardstock for the palm plant. The Nature Green Cardstock came with 6 sheets of each color. The SVG cutting file has me cutting 8 pages. Am I doing something wrong?
I will ask Meagan that question, but double-check that you “attached” the pieces on the canvas. (Right column at bottom of column).
From Meagan: Yes, you use 6 sheets. The SVG is grouped into 6 groups, and they need to attach each group to keep everything in its place.
Same and was 2 pages short : (
Hi Rebecca, If you have not cut yet please follow these instructions. If you have already cut no worries, you should have extra sheets of sour apple and can use those! I originally designed the palm plant with the gumdrop green and sour apple together and love the variation.
1. You will see in design space once you have uploaded the file that there is one group, ungroup that group and you will see 6 groups and the designer note, hide the designer notes.
2. In each group you will select the drop down arrow, there will be two groups in each of the 6 main groups find the group that is the score lines and change those from cut to score.
3. Now select each of the 6 groups one at a time and select attach. This will hold the score lines to the leaves and keep those groups of leaves I have set in place so that you only use 6 sheets of paper.
Thank you!
NEVERMIND! It just changed, lol.
Whew! Good.
The video posted for lesson two is the lesson one video.
Oops! Let me check that.
Such a well organized workbook, beautiful templates, and lovely introductory video! Kudos to everyone who contributed their time and talents to produce this professional course. I’m wondering where the SVG files are located; I can’t seem to find them. It’s been a minute since I took a master class and I’ve always used a cutting machine, so I don’t recall cutting out templates…perhaps the files are presented with each lesson?
Thank you so much Linda, the SVG files are available to download in Lesson 2 which is available now!
Materials (a lot!) at the ready and excited to get started. Counting down…
Wonderful! Enjoy the master class and share photos!
This should be fun! I know I will learn a lot as I really haven’t made any paper projects yet.
This is a perfect place to start! We might even coax you over to the paper flower world. 😉
I am so looking forward to this class! My husband has been battling cancer this past year so life has been crazy. We have some rare downtime in August so I hope I can keep up with everything. I have almost all the supplies needed, waiting on the gold hoop, but I have not purchased the Krylon spray as I don’t normally use it. Is it an optional item for the plants, or would my finished plants look different without it?
You absolutely don’t the spray for the class, however it will protect your plants from fading if they will be exposed to any sunlight!
Thank you.
My name is Lu Ann, not Lu!
I am so sorry if I typed it incorrectly. People call me Lisa all the time, so I get it! lol.
This class will be so perfect for me. We travel a lot and the watering of my few house plants is always an issue. Crepe paper flowers are so beautiful, and the addition of house plants will be a perfect addition with no worries about watering!
Hey Lu Ann! I love hearing that! Little paper sculptures. I am going to be making these for my plantless interior, too. 🙂
Gettin’ ready! Woo Hoo!
Yay!
Looking forward to this class. I am hoping to make a gift for my sister. Thank you
These make beautiful gifts!
Hi Lia – very excited about the class! Do you know when the cardstock pack will be restocked? I’d also like to grab the cream honeycomb paper – when will it be back in stock? Thanks!
The warehouse is promising at the end of the day. Keep your fingers crossed.
Très contente de me joindre à cette master class. Bien hâte de vous suivre.
So happy you are here!
This is going to be the end of summer gift to myself. Can’t wait!
I LOVE that for you!
I am so excited about this class ❣️
Happy to hear!
I am so looking forward to this Masterclass.
Thank you!!!
You are so welcome!
hâte de commencer ce master classe. la carte cadeau pour moi est pas possible , je suis en France pas d expédition pour la france dommage. Am
So happy you are here! We will have a budget for shipping to the shop within the next month. Stay tuned.
ah ! je reste attentive Anne
So excited!!!
Yay!
Hi! So excited for this class! Paper flowers/plants are my absolute favorite craft! Will the green cardstock paper pack be available soon?
The warehouse is telling us that they will have the green pack restocked this week. No worries. . . extra time is added at the end so you can finish up.
This is perfect timing. After 3 years of planning and resourcing, my art studio is finished. Moving into it right now but have access to all my flower making supplies. This will be my first project in my new space and give me a needed break from moving everything in. Can’t wait!
And you can decorate with these gorgeous new plants! Share photos of your new studio on the community page. We would love to see.
Congratulations on your new space ! I too have a new room dedicated to my creative endeavors. I love the synchronistic timing of this class.
Hello,
I’m so excited to join the class! Looking over the materials list, I’m not sure what the mini clips are, can you help?
Ah, I just updated the link since our shop sold out. https://amzn.to/4oaeaxF
I’ve been debating whether or not to sign up for this class because I may not have time to work along with the lessons. But I learned so much from the previous master classes and enjoyed them so much that I’m going to see what I can do…
This class will give you more time to complete if you need it. So happy you are joining us!
✂️🧴🌿☘️🪴 😃🙌🏻
Yay! 🙂
So excited to join my first class!
Welcome! So happy you are here!
Is this Master Class part of my regular annual membership, or is there additional cost?
No extra cost! It is part of your membership. 🙂
Nice😊
This is my third master class. Very excited!
So happy to hear that! More coming. 😉
I can’t wait 😀
Yay! See you there!
Just started living by myself so I am looking forward to the connection with others. So excited!!
We are so happy you are here!
I don’t see the 10″ gold hoop as an option, only 6″ or 12″. Should I order the 12″ hoop?
We are restocking as quickly as we can! We had more people join than expected. 10 in will be back in stock.
Looking forward to the Master Class. I’d like to get it on the calendar.i have the dates but wondered if you have the time that Megan will start on those days.
So happy you will join us! These are all pre-recorded classes, similar to our other master classes, so we can ensure they flow efficiently and include all the important content in the videos. 🙂
So! That means we will release them early each day (6 am West Coast, I think), and you can access them at any time. We will be here to answer any questions you may have in the comment section.
So happy to see a Cricut friendly Masterclass! I’ve made a few paper houseplants, but am so pleased to be able to get tips on improving my skills.
I use my subscription primarily for paper projects, so please keep them coming! I don’t own a Maker, so I hand cut anything using crepe paper, but am glad the plants are a mix of papers for all users.
Yay! I love hearing that! Have you taken the Frosted Paper Flowers Master Class? That is very Cricut focused too.
May I order all materials for these 6 plants now? I’ll be traveling during the month of August, but can either join a class when scheduled or view it later on my own. What do you recommend?
Thank you so much!
Sharon
Yes, go ahead and order (the supplies will be back in stock this week). We are going to leave this class open a bit longer this time so I think you can fit in. 🙂
I am very excited to take this class. I am concerned that I waited for my gift card and now the Nature Green pack Cardstock and the 45 mm Spun balls are sold out. I know once the master class begins I only have 45 days to complete it which if the product doesn’t come in might be hard to complete. any idea when this product mght be in or can get an extention on the complete date?
Hi Kathy! We will be back in stock with the cardstock this week. The spun balls come from France and are on the way, but you can find some at Smile Mercantile for now.
You will have longer than 45 days for this class. We will leave it open for at least a few months, if not longer.
Hi Lia,
I have been checking for the Nature Green Cardstock and it is still not in stock. Any updates? I have been holding off placing my order for that to come in. I really don’t want to pay additional shipping but I also want to start the class as soon as I can.
The warehouse is saying they will have it in stock this week. I guess they are behind, and I wish they were not five states away, or I would go pack them up myself! lol. But the good news is that we are giving more time to finish the class.
I’m signed up! I just finished the flowers master class and I’m ready for the next challenge.
I see that you’re out of the 45mm spun cotton balls, and I’m not seeing them on Amazon, either – is there another site you could recommend?
Yes! They are en route to the warehouse. In the meantime, you can try Smile Mercantile. I believe she has them in stock.
I can’t join you on the 1st. May I access the class another day? Thank you! Sharon
Yes! As long as you have signed up for the class, you can join and work along at your own pace. It is really fun to do this as a group but everyone can be where they need to be. 🙂
hello, I was looking at the list of Tombow marker howver, # 126 and 131 doesn’t show the color when I click on it.
Can you tell me what the colors are? Thank you so much
It appears that we’ve sold out of those two in our shop, so I’ve moved the links to Blick. You should be able to see the names now.
Timely and exciting!
Just got delivered all of my materials so Aug 1st I’ll be ready to go!
Thanks Lia and Team!
Yay! See you in class!
This should be fun!!! Looking forward to it!
So happy you are joining us!
Very excited about this class. We will be out of town until July 31 so hoping to join the class on August 1st. Do you have the times yet for the various dates? Sorry if this was published somewhere and I missed it!
Alex
No worries! I love your excitement! They should be live around 6 am every day (or early morning Eastern Standard Time). Everything is pre-filmed so it is not a live class and you can watch it at any time. 🙂
Thanks Lia, since it isn’t live life will be easier. I’ve done the other master classes but I joined long after their release dates. Now I feel pretty stupid!
😊
Oh no! You are far from stupid. lol. Since master classes are very multi-layered and planned in detail, it makes it so much easier and cleaner to pre-film for you all.
I’m very excited about this new class. Re the supplies, I see Mod Podge listed. Should I get the matte finish or gloss/lustre? Thanks!
Either one works fine, and we don’t see much of a difference. We sell the matte in our shop (but we are sold out at the moment), but if you have gloss, that will work too.
How do I use my $75 gift card to felt paper flowers?
Hello Shawna! Visit our shop, and when you’re ready to make a purchase, enter the gift card code (which was sent to you via email) into the designated field. Here is a link: https://feltpaperscissors.com
Hi! I don’t think I received a gift card. How can I get it?
Email Hello@liagriffith.com, and Emily can resend it to you. Double-check your junk mail, too.
What size planter should we be looking for? I will go to the charity shops to find. Thank you.
All the pots we used were between 4″ to 6″ wide and 4″ to 5″ tall.
Very excited to make these plants for my home since I am not good at keeping house plants alive!
These look beautiful and so realistic. I have loved the flower master classes and look forward to Megan’s class in August.
So happy to hear! See you there. 🙂
I am so excited about this class. I had to pack up my paper flower crafting supplies and tools several months ago in preparation of moving. We’re finally moving into the new house next week! I will no doubt still be unpacking when the class starts but my crepe paper will the first to be unpacked.
Yay! And you will have new paper plants for the new house. 🙂
Hi again, I have gone through all the materials list and feel I either already have in stock or can access all the materials in the UK, except the Nature paper pack. I have found some similar coloured papers but they are 100gsm – would that be too heavy? Or do you have some Amazon options that we might be able to buy here?
That 100-gram cardstock should work well. For me, it is more about finding the right colors. Or colors that are pleasing to your eye as a paper plant.
Thank you!
I am very excited for this masterclass! Thank you for sharing your creativity and talent with us.
We’re delighted you’re here!
Lia, I did get registered for the class and I did not realize it. It has been one of those days. I can’t wait for the class to start. Thank you for the gift card.
Oh, Yay! See you there!
Lia, Did I miss seeing th e Join the Class Button. I would love to sign up for it.
Scroll down to the bottom and there is a button above comments. We couldn’t move that button to the top. So I made a big banner at the top to point you all down. Haha.
I’m so excited.
Love hearing that!
So looking forward to this class. Here’s hoping the materials can arrive before then.
I think you should get everything. The warehouse is very good at prompt shipments. 🙂
I’ve been thinking about trying some of the potted plant projects, but not got around to it, so this masterclass is the perfect nudge to get me started.
TYVM for the gift card, as well. It isn’t always easy to source suitable materials here in the UK, but the postage from the US is pricy. I was pleased to be able to get the Christmas wreath and Hellebore kits from Hobbymaker TV in the UK. Will you do something like that again sometime?
Hello Ursula! I’m so happy you’re taking this class. And I hope the gift card can help offset the shipping costs. I was really hoping that our event with Hobbymaker could have been more successful. It’s possible that their market, which is really into card making, isn’t yet ready for something like paper flowers. We are still working on many angles. As a small company with limited resources, it can be challenging, but I am confident that we will find a solution.
Excited!
Yay! We are too.
I’m looking forward to a new Master Class! I reference the other classes all the time.
Fabulous! Love to hear! And I loved putting the dots together to figure out where we had met before. (Watched the interview with David). 🙂
Is there an alternative to for the cardstock? They don’t sell it in the uk. Is it textured? I think 65 lb is approx 180gsm in UK?
You can use any weight of cardstock that you have in the UK. What we are using is smooth, but if you find a textured version, that should be fine to use as well.
I believe I am registered for the Master Class. When will the gift cards be sent? Thanks.
You should be getting it within the next day. Keep an eye on your email!
I see you updated the registration page. Thank you! Very excited about this class!
You are welcome! See you in class!
Looking forward to this! Hopefully it will help me keep my sanity as a serene sanctuary as school starts up again.
Yes! I hope you join us in September too. We posted the link to the event. 🙂
I am thrilled at the prospect of learning to make more greenery, mainly potted plants. Having enjoyed the master classes I have attended so far, I can’t wait for this one!
This is a good one! I’m so happy to hear you’ve been enjoying all of them. 🙂
So excited for this course!!
Love to hear it!!
I’m really excited about the upcoming class! Can’t wait to get started! I just had a quick question:
Will we be receiving the $75 gift card with enough time to use it before the workshop? I’m just trying to plan ahead.
Thanks so much!
Yes, you should be seeing that in your email inbox today! Let me know if you do not.
Got it!!! Thank you so much! I will definitely put it to good use!
So looking forward to this class. Saw the supply list and will need to pick up a few items. How will the gift card arrive?
Check your email inbox. You should be getting it today!
What a beautiful class you have offered, thank you!
So happy to offer it to you. 🙂
Cannot wait to make these!! Thank you!!
You are so welcome! See you in class!
Thank you so much! Excited to make some plants.
I have a degree in horticulture and just love creating paper versions of the plants and flowers I learned about many years ago😊
Oh goodness! I love this!!
I can’t wait to make those beautiful plants! But… I will be on summer vacation until the 18th of August. Is it possible for me to start later?
Yes! You can start late, no problem. You will have time to complete the class. Be sure and sign up now so you can get your gift card! 🙂
I can’t wait. It will be my first class!
This is a great place to start! Yay!
May I never have to kill a live plant again thank you!!!!
Whoot!! Love it!
Waiting for this new Master Class eagerly. I’ve put all dates on my calendar though, so I don’t miss any. Would you please tell us the time too. Thank you for sharing this with us.
Wonderful! We are so happy to deliver!! 🙂
Looking forward to this master class! The plants look amazing
They really do! Meagan knocked it out of the park!

See you in class!!
Thank you!!! What fun!
You are so welcome! 🙂
I’m excited for this class!
So happy to hear that!
LOVE this!!!! What a treat to start a new Master Class. TY
You are SO welcome, Donna!
You hinted at a surprise, Lia, and as always, you never disappoint! I’m thrilled because I’ve always focused on flowers to the exclusion of plants. This bona fide Master Class devoted to houseplants will compel me to cross over to the Green Side. Like Jeanine, I’ll be having a hip replacement. Watching the new lessons will provide the best incentive for a fast recovery and my return to active crafting.
That made me laugh. Welcome to the Green Side! Speedy recovery, Linda. We’re here cheering you on. 🙂
A few years back I ruptured my achilles and spent the summer in bed… Lia’s flower making class 100% kept me sane and I did it all while laying in bed! I’m so excited to start this class.. and the gift card was such a generous treat and incentive!! Can’t wait!! Best wishes on a speedy recovery!
Thanks for sharing your story, Anna!
This is incredible! Cool projects, and help buying materials!!
(I will have JUST had a hip replaced July 31 – it will take a while to catch up, I think! I know you’ll be supporting all the way!)
We gotcha, Jeanine! You have as much time as you need to finish up this class. 🙂
Very excited for this master class!
So glad to hear this! We’re so happy you’re going to join us. 🙂
Yay!!!! Can’t wait!!!
I am in Admin. at my daughter’s middle school and love decorating the work space with all the flowers/plants–and the kids love it too! They’ll be happy to see some new things when e we return to class!!
Perfect master class for the end of summer, then!
I am so excited and can’t wait for this class to begin!!! I can’t keep plants alive, but I can’t kill these! lol
This is going to be a fun one!
This could not be more timely as I’m redecorating my condo and I want plants that I wont kill!
I knew you would love this after watching your interview with David!
Can’t wait!
See you there!
How exciting!
Yes! Finally here!
So excited for this master class! I’ve adored all the plants you’ve made.
Love hearing that!
Very excited to learn new things! You gals are wonderful teachers and talented artists!
Thank you, Celeste! We are thrilled to introduce this new class to you.
Looking forward to this class! I want to make plants for my daughter….she can’t have real plants at work.
That is a great idea! She will be the talk of her office. 😉
Can’t wait!!!!
Yay!! So happy you are here.
Ty for the gift card I just used it to by the new color pan pastel set I looking forward to the new master class.
A great place to use it! You are going to love the new color set.
I am so looking forward to this class. I have no plants in my home, I buy them and they die!! I do not have a green thumb so I’m hoping that when this class ends , it will look like I do. 🤗
Oh, you will! I snuck one of these home the other day and promised it would have paper buddies soon. Haha. You are going to love what you create. 🙂
Can’t wait!! Definitely need some greenery in my house.
You are in for a treat! There’s something extra special about knowing you made these beauties when friends come over and you watch their jaws drop. lol
You would not believe my excitement when I read that email and followed the link to sign up! Absolutely cannot wait! It has been a long time! Thank you so much Meagan, Lia, and team. Also thanks for the $50 to spend in your store!
You are so welcome! We love this creative community and are always looking for ways to give back. 🙂
So exciting to be part of another Masterclass and one that looks inspirational again! Thanks foe offering such an awesome experience with you all!
Yay! You are so welcome, Diana! We ADORE you and your keen British eye for tasteful crafts. 🙂
Thank you I have been waiting for this class! And that you for the class list and gift.
You are so welcome! We love our community! 🙂
Excited for this Masterclass!
Me too! Since I helped film it. . . I know it is REALLY good!
I am so excited for this! I love all the plants we are going to make, but can’t keep real ones alive for very long, so this is PERFECT for me!
You and me both, girl!! Let’s do this!
Oh this is so very exciting!! Can’t wait to create!!
Yay! Love hearing that you are in the class, Coleen!
This should be so much fun!!! Excited to learn!!!
I will be right there with you in this class! My house will be so happy. lol
I am looking forward to this class and making my own houseplants.
Yay! I am so happy you are here!
