Crepe Paper Leopard Orchid Member Make Workshop
Spot On
Embrace the wild beauty of the safari with our latest Member Make Workshop: the Crepe Paper Leopard Orchid. This exquisite flower, inspired by the leopard orchid's intricate patterns and vibrant hues, is a perfect addition to our summer safari collection. Nicknamed the "king of orchids" by some, the leopard orchid isn't your average wallflower. Unlike its delicate cousins, these orchids often grow in massive clusters on the sides of trees, creating a breathtaking display.

Become a MemberWe're shaking things up a bit this month with our coloring technique! We'll be using water-based markers to create the signature leopard spots freehand directly onto our double-sided crepe paper. So join us on July 19th at noon PT for a live crafting event where we'll show you all the tips and tricks to creating these stunning flowers. And if you miss us, don't worry! The video will be available right here when you're ready.
For those of you using a cutting machine for this project, here's a tip: leave the cut shapes and excess paper on the mat and add the marker details before removing any of the crepe paper. This ensures a smooth and precise application of your leopard spots.
Also, if you’re planning to pre-cut your shapes, we recommend leaving the crepe on the cutting mats for the best results. During our live event, I'll demonstrate how to paint the petals with the markers, allowing you to color along with me. However, if you'd like to get a head start on the coloring, we have a cutting guide available for download in this post.
Our Member Make Workshops are designed to give you the tools and confidence to create equally breathtaking pieces for your home. Plus, they're a wonderful place to draw inspiration and support for all your crafty ambitions.
So don't forget to share your Crepe Paper Leopard Orchids in our crafters' community or on Instagram using #MemberMake. We can't wait to see your stunning spotted beauties

At the end of the video I thought I heard you talking about poppies from cardstock-was I imagining that or will that be an upcoming tutorial? They were so beautiful!!
Yes! Those will be in the August collection. They are STUNNING!! 🙂
I was skeptical about making these because of all the coloring. But I very pleased at how they came out. Thanks.
So great to hear! Yes, I just leaned in and let myself NOT rush through the coloring. 🙂
So super pretty m, I’ll try to join you for the live Member Make this afternoon. Lia and Team, I have a question about the fusible web, can you please share what the fusible web is used for and when we should use it? Is it for ‘protecting’ petals/making them sturdier?
Hi Kathy! So happy you are joining us today. And… ask your question on the live too, though I will also answer here. It is a great questions. We use the fusible web, which is a very thin net of glue that will melt with heat, to fuse two layers of the extra-fine crepe paper together to form a DIY version of the double-sided crepe paper (which is our favorite crepe for many of the projects). Here is a full video on how to use this web. https://liagriffith.com/tips-tricks-for-lamination-and-diy-double-sided-crepe-paper/
Thank you so much for this information and link Lia!! Have a lovely weekend!
You are so welcome!!
Thank you for another wonderful collection!
