Since we like to try out different materials for our projects, today we’re sharing the tutorial for our DIY crepe paper mistletoe.

Hanging mistletoe for the holidays is a long-standing tradition. Some say it has mystical powers that bring good luck into your home. Others say it’s a sign of love and friendship.
However you feel about mistletoe, the real thing is toxic—so a DIY crepe paper mistletoe will be safer for your pets and children to be around. T0 craft this version, you’ll need the tools and materials listed below as well as our mistletoe pattern at the end of this post. Then just follow our step-by-step photo tutorial.

How to Make Your Own Crepe Paper Mistletoe
- Gather your craft tools and materials. Then download the SVG file or PDF template at the end of this post.
- Using your scissors or cutting machine, cut crepe paper according to the template notes.
- Then, use your paper curling tool to curl your mistletoe leaves.
- Cut 30 two-inch pieces of your 24-gauge cloth-covered stem wire.

Hi, if I were to use white cotton spun balls instead, what size(s) would you recommend?
Do you think the 6mm are too small?
Sure, you can definitely use the spun balls. I think 6mm or 8mm would both work. LOVE that you are getting ready for Christmas!!
