Metallic Crepe Holiday Wreath Video Workshop
Precious metals for this holiday season
This project was part ONE of a workshop series where we made three elegant winter holiday displays. You can find the links for the others below.
Decorating for the winter holidays is so much sweeter when you can bring out some of your favorite items year after year. This metallic crepe holiday wreath is at the top of my favorite list since it coordinates with any holiday color palette. The pretty gold, copper, and silver leaves are made from wired crepe paper, making them easy to store and bring back out to display each winter season. If you love this metallic look, we have a whole list of crepe projects made from this paper set that you will enjoy.

For this wreath, I specifically wanted to use all three metallic colors in our extra-fine crepe paper metallic pack. As you can see, each color has its own unique leaf shape; notably, copper holly, silver mistletoe, and gold salal leaves. Subsequently, the wreath is finished with the tiny details of the gold berries made from the 6mm spun balls that are first added to the white wires and then painted gold with craft paint or Posca paint markers. Finally, the leaves and berries are carefully attached to a wooden embroidery hoop.
In the right column, you can conveniently find the tools and materials used for this project. Next, download the PDF template to hand cut your pieces or alternatively use the SVG file to cut with a rotary blade on a personal cutting machine. Once you are ready, simply follow along in the live workshop video to make this wreath from start to finish.

Leave a CommentHi!
I can’t seem to find the instructions for the Crepe Gold & Copper Pine Cones and Long Pine Needles. I have one that uses an egg shaped spun cotton shape. I cut all the needle SVG with Evergreen fine crepe only to find out, this isn’t the correct instructions. Where might they be? I was really confused when you said we’d be using all 3 metallic crepes. And where the heck does the egg shape come in? Thank you JMS
Hello there! This project does not have written instructions, but a full video. The templates for this exact wreath are all right here in the right hand column. If you downloaded another project’s templates, the tutorial or video will be with that post. Does that make sense?
Is the PDF template available with just outlines vs all in color? Thank you!
Just added it. 🙂
Thanks
Could you do this with the heavy metallic crepe? Thank you!
Yes! If it feels too thick you can stretch it a bit before cutting.
How do I download the file? You used to have 4 files and I could open them, print them etc, now I can’t do anything. I work on an I-pad and want to download instructions and files to hand cut. Help please
Hello there! We now put everything into one folder so it is in one spot. When you download the zipped file, it might go into your downloads folder. You can unzip by simply double-clicking. Everything will be inside and it is easy to move the hole folder into where you organize your craft files. Let me know if this does the trick.
I uploaded the wreath leaf patterns and cut them on my Maker. The leaves are small and holly and thin leaves don’t cut too many leaves. Do you suggest resizing patterns or cutting a double set, or are they big enough and enough leaves to fill wreath? I like to have all prep done in advance of assembly! Thank you!
If you look at the PDF version of the template, you can see how many of each leaf I recommend for the size of the hoop we used. These leaves are smaller.
I’ve made one of these beautiful wreaths for myself and would like to make one to give to my sister. Any suggestions on how to pack for mail away. Are you going to provide a picture tutorial for this make. Thanks.
Cut a piece of cardboard larger than the wreath, then wire it onto the cardboard using holes and some bind wire. This will keep it from slipping around. You can even make this board fit snugly inside the box or tape it securely.
I can’t access the content either and it’s Friday
Help
Can you help me out with some details? Can you see the video at the top of the page? You should also see the download for the template.
I wanted to do the Metallic holiday wreath but was busy yesterday. Today I can’t access the video. Is it only available on the day of? Thought my annual membership entitled me to all videos.

Today at 11am pst, we are filming the wreath, so you are early. 🙂
