Papercut Black Cat Halloween Decoration
One of the most classic Halloween decorations around is a black cat. Black cats are supposed to symbolize bad luck or witchcraft. I can’t say that this is true, but I will say that I used to have a black cat and I loved her quirky little personality. Here is a simple downloadable black cat Halloween decoration that you can use to dress up your windows for approaching trick-or-treaters.
Goodies You Can't Google
You've found a member-exclusive project. But for less than the price of a fancy coffee... You'll get instant access to this and over 2,000 other premium projects inside the Lia Griffith membership!
Become a MemberDownload the PDF version if you are cutting the black cat Halloween decoration by hand. If you have a cutting machine, use the SVG file instead. We simply cut our cat onto black cardstock and then added a harvest moon in an yellow-orange color. Trim each piece of the cat’s body and then assemble it using brads. We used silver brads, but you can also use black or gold brads. Check out the links in Shop in the Project to find yours! Once your cat is ready, you can use a glue dot roller or glue stick to attach the moon behind the cat. Pair it with some other Halloween decorations to complete your spooky look!
This black cat Halloween decoration would look great with our halloween window clings, or head to our DIY Halloween section for more inspiration. For many years I’ve made animals and dolls as string puppets. This black cat is worth a try as a string cat, too. The kids, I’ve made string puppets, are not kids any longer, meanwhile they have kids of their own, and I’m pretty sure these little ones will love a black string cat, too. I send a smile to the team 🙂
Same! Thanks, Lia.

So glad to hear that Eliza!
