Become a MemberWe are in love with these papercut lacy lanterns that Lindsay designed! As you can see, her design features beautifully intricate details, similar to an actual lace pattern. And to complement our purple color palette, she chose a light lavender frosted paper.
Because of the intricate design, we recommend using a cutting machine for this project. You can find our SVG file below along with a PDF template if you do want to cut by hand.
Ooh la lacy
These papercut lacy lanterns would be perfect for a bridal shower, wedding, or other special event. They are a quick and easy way to dress up your table, and you could even create a gorgeous centerpiece by adding a wreath around them along with some paper flowers. If you need ideas, you can see how we styled our lanterns below with our fern wreath and some crepe paper clematis blooms.
As always, we like variation. So our pattern below includes three different lantern sizes. When you’re done crafting your papercut lacy lanterns, you can add some flameless candles to create a more cozy and intimate setting. We have linked the ones we used below, but you can always use tea lights if you don’t want your candles to show.

Hello!
I am wondering if I can purchase Frosted Text Weight Paper in white not light lavendar? If so, where to purchase?
Thank YOU,
Loretta
You can use any color you prefer! We have a white in the citrus pack or you can use the white gold from the gold pack. You can also use any paper you prefer. These are just the white options we have in the shop. https://feltpaperscissors.com/product-category/frosted-craft-paper/
I’m struggling with the cutting of this design. I have a Cricut Maker. I have tried to cut it using a 24lb weight text paper. I’m not sure what category to use in the paper section of the choices. Every one I make ends up with the paper ripping. I’ve changed my blade to use a fresh blade. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Ugh we understand the cutting struggles! When we use frosted paper from Paper Papers, we have the most success using the Light Cardstock (default) setting. The Lia Griffith Frosted Craft Paper cuts best with Copy Paper (default, or +more).
Does this require the Cricut Maker machine or will it work with the Explore Air 2?
You can use an Explore! The Maker (with a rotary blade) is only necessary for felt and crepe paper.
I have not been able to get my cricut maker to accept the paper latern svg file. Goes to EDGE and will not allow. Says it is unsupported. Suggestions?

Hi Nancy, did you delete the disclaimer/text layer? That message tends to pop up when that layer has not been deleted or turned off.
