Become a MemberMother’s Day is only a few days away, and our newest tea towel design is perfect for a last-minute gift idea! The stacked teacup design was inspired by our recent Mother’s Day Brunch invitations. After our illustrator Krista came up with the cute pastel invitations, we knew we had to use this adorable design for something more! Of course, applying the teacup design as an iron-on to a tea towel made perfect sense. So here it is!
To make our cute kitchen towel, we started by picking up a basic 100% cotton white tea towel from West Elm. You should be able to find something similar at any home goods store. Below you will find the download for the stacked teacup design. We have included an SVG file for those using a cutting machine, or a PDF version if you will be cutting by hand. The PDF design has already been mirrored for you, so it is ready for applying. Because we used our Cricut, we used Cricut’s iron-on vinyl in Lilac for our towel (see Shop this Project below). Of course, you can choose any color of iron-on that you prefer if you are using a cutting machine. If you will be printing the design with a printer instead of using a cutting machine, you will need iron-on transfer paper. Print the design directly onto the transfer paper, cut it out, and then follow the instructions for your specific transfer paper to apply it to your tea towel. To add an extra touch, we used a matching lavender embroidery floss to create a simple running stitch across the bottom of the towel along the pre-existing seam. You could even use floss to add a little embroidered heart design if you want to explore your creative side!
These tea towels are such an easy way to give your mom something pretty that she can incorporate into her home decor. Thank you so much for these. I have a friend that does tea parties, I will make a few for her. Also the tea tags will be fun too. They are so cute. ?
What a nice gift! So glad you like these 🙂
I LOVE this tea towel. I just recently became obsessed with cutting vinyl with my Cricut. Can’t wait to try something like this.
I’m glad you love it! Isn’t the Cricut an awesome tool? 🙂
Thank you for these, they are awesome. Love different colors also, wish had more transfers but was able to get two at least. Just happen to have tea towels from Walmart gotten few weeks ago. They are so pretty, would be pretty hanging up as curtains in one or all colors. You are so talented.
Have great rest of week.
Where do you get these adorable models?
What a great idea to make curtains! So glad you like this project. The models are friends and kids of the team, aren’t they just adorable?! 🙂
