Tissue Paper Pom Pom Owls
Today I am sharing our newest kids craft – tissue pom pom owls! These owls are super adorable for baby showers, birthday parties or nursery decor. The project is also a great weekend craft activity to do with your pre-teens or younger children. All you need to make these precious cuties are tissue paper, string or baker’s twine and some pinking shears and your PIXMA Printer.
Start your pom pom owls by picking out your tissue paper. We used a variety of colors from our very own tissue line! These colors are specifically from our Oh, Baby tissue pack, but feel free to browse the entire selection. You will need 5 sheets of each color for each owl. Follow the step-by-step photo tutorial below to make your poms, or download our printable instructions with your membership. The trick for making these tissue poms look so fluffy is to use pinking shears on the edges of the tissue. This adds some beautiful texture! Tissue pom poms are wonderful for festive party decor on their own, but you can continue making the owls by downloading the PDF below.
Our PDF includes the different faces for the pom pom owls has, plus the wings, feet and bows. Print these designs onto regular copy paper or card stock. To print our owls we used our PIXMA Printer from Canon. Once your pieces are printed and trimmed, use your hot glue gun to attach the paper bits. I would suggest curling the wings a bit to look like they are flapping. We set up a baby shower display and sprinkled our pom pom owls around our dessert table. Too cute!
