As I mentioned in my previous post on how to make easy yarn pom poms, my sister Arline recently joined our team of designers and makers. She is a mom of 4 and has a lot of experience in designing great kid’s crafts that are fun for the whole family. These yarn pom pom animals are adorable beyond belief! This project came just in time for Easter, and it is the perfect craft activity to keep your kids occupied during your Easter Brunch event. Our first yarn pom pom animal collection features these precious farm animal characters. The set includes chicks, bunnies, sheep, and ducks. For this project, you will need yarn, pipe cleaners, felt, and wiggle eyes. I would also recommend buying pom pom makers for this craft. It is possible to make a yarn pom pom using a fork, and you can find a photo tutorial of this in this post. Using a fork is a good trick in a pinch, but using a pom pom maker is much easier! They come in four sizes, which are perfect for making large bodies and small heads like the duck.

Start by gathering your materials. You will need yarn for the bodies and pipe cleaners for the legs of your animals. Print the PDF template below as a guide for cutting your felt pieces. These pieces will be for the feet, beaks, and ears of the animals. Make your yarn pom pom by wrapping the yarn around the pom pom maker many times, and then tying the center together tightly. You can even embed the pipe cleaner into the pom pom while the yarn is wrapped around your pom pom maker. This makes it so that the animals can stand upright. So adorable! Attach all of your pieces together using hot glue, and that’s it!

This yarn pom pom animal activity is great for Easter, but it would also be a fun craft for any time of year.
