Become a MemberThe 4th of July bike parade is a long-standing tradition here in the US and is a whole heap of fun. Today we are sharing our ideas and inspiration for red, white and blue bike decorations and we are using my vintage 1959 Schwinn bicycle for the purpose! There are no rules to Fourth of July bike decor except to keep it fun, vibrant and all American! Our bike was decorated by Anna, the newest American Citizen on the team and the most patriotic – she was SO excited about this project! She threaded red, white and blue crepe paper through the spokes of the wheels. She made tissue paper fringe tassles for the handlebars and filled the baskets with flowers and pinwheels (download them here) and DIY tissue poms. I love that they look like burst of fireworks. The finishing touches are the medallions for the centers of the wheels, the cute “celebrate” banner to hang from the back of the seat and the 4th of July sign for the front basket. Pop on your red, white and blue outfit to include a floppy hat and go celebrate in style!

Hi Lia, i so love this! Though we don’t celebrate 4th of July here in our country (Philippines), i would love to try this next year as we celebrate our Independence Day on June 12 with the same colors and with the touch of yellow for the star that would best symbolize our Philippine Flag or maybe you could create one for Filipinos.
Thanks for the idea Lia. 🙂
Michelle
