Become a MemberWe are all about welcoming Fall into our home and studio at the moment. Our woodland paper cut art is the perfect DIY project for your Fall home decor. Featuring a woodland scene in shades of blues and greens, this DIY framable artwork looks great on a mantle, or hanging on that blank space of wall that you’ve been dying to fill with something wonderful! We created our paper cut art by layering cut paper on top of each other using foam spacers in between each level to give the artwork some depth. The artwork can be cut using a cutting machine or by hand. If you are using a cutting machine simply click on the SVG file below. If you want to cut this paper cut art by hand then download the PDF below and print onto your chosen papers. Trim the pattern using a sharp craft knife then assemble using the foam spacers. Place a sheet of white card at the back and you are good to go! You can frame this piece in a 9 x 9″ shadow box frame from Ikea. Simple, fun and pretty darn beautiful don’t you think?
I would love to see your woodland paper cut art so please feel free to share pictures of your work with me on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram using the tag @liagriffith. I will share always my favorites! Enjoy! ~ Lia

I Just made this Woodland Paper ,so pretty! Since I am new in using cricut machine I dont know how to put the cut layer for roof and window ,so I do the slit by using cutter. I really liked this theme👍 .
Thank you,
Marilyn
So glad you like this project, Marilyn! You might find this post on using SVG files helpful: https://liagriffith.com/how-to-use-svg-files-for-cricut/
I love this project and I’ve downloaded the pieces. My question is where is the best placement for the spacers on each layer. Thank you
We placed them randomly behind the larger pieces of the artwork (the thicker trees, the mountain, the house, the deer).
Hi!
What kind of foam spacers did you use? Can I buy these at Michael’s?
Thanks!
We have used several brands but I like the 3M mounting squares. They should be available at Michaels!
Hi, Lia-
I downloaded the Woodland svg cutting file, it downloaded as a zip file. When I extracted it, the file came up as an internet explorer svg file, but all the layers are together. I can’t get it to open with my Silhouette Portrait as separate layers. Any suggestions? I have the Designer Edition.
Thanks!
Becky
Hi Becky, I’m sorry for the trouble. The issue could be where you’re saving the SVG file– when you unzip the file, choose your desktop as the location to save. Unfortunately we don’t have as much experience with Silhouette Studio so you’ll want to contact their customer service if this doesn’t resolve the issue!
Lia, I just bought membership and REALLY want to make the Woodland Creatures from the “Four Seasons Home Decor” Cricut Cartridge – I do not have a Cricut, is there any other way to purchase?
Thank you
Unfortunately those designs are only available on the cartridge 🙁
Lia I made one of these and my friend loves it but wants to buy it, not be given it as a gift! Am i allowed to sell or not please?
I think a one off for a friend would be fine. We just can’t have people making it their business to sell our designs. Does that make sense?
absolutely, thank you! She will be so pleased.x
🙂
Hi lia,
You are the most creative person in the world, you must work 24-7, anyway REALLY LOVE YOUR DESIGNS. I was wondering I have noticed on some a few of your designs I have noticed you have cut files for the Silhouette Cameo which I have and then no Cameo files..WHY??I have a silhouette as I am sure many of your followers do as well, You have devoted most all of your designs to the Cricut Machine, I have a big problem getting a grasp on SVG files I get so confused when I bring them into my sil software, and working with Studio files are soo much easier any chance you will go back to posting them in both cut file settings?? Thank you!!
Ha ha, yes I am always thinking of new designs:-) I don’t have a Silhouette any longer (from a designers perspective I can do more with my Cricut Explore so it works better for me), but you can use the SVG files I provide with the Silhouette as long as you have the Designer Edition of their software.
Hi there! I’m new to paper crafts and for now I would like to do a few projects by hand before I think about investing in something like a cricut.
That means downloading the pdf. However, I am unsure how to adjust the size of the images? If I print them as they are, they are just smaller than 5″x 5″. That’s some tiny artwork!
Am I missing a step or program function?
Thank you for your help!
Ashley
Ok so after much research…I found what has worked for me is to select, “print as an image” in advanced printer settings. Then scale up to 120% This is the last size for me that won’t cut off the edge (so you can ensure both sides of your image are symmetrical). Other than this, I am not sure how to make sure the image prints large enough to fit the shadow box.
Any other help would be appreciated.
Ashley
So sorry for all the trouble, I have upload two new files. One to print on 11×17″ so that you can fit it and one that is a little smaller on 8 1/2×11″ paper.

Thanks for doing that! I never got back to this to try the larger file. BUT now I can do it with my own Cricut Explore Air that I received as a very belated Christmas gift from my mom. She even got me the Lia Griffith one which I didn’t ask her for because I thought asking for a Cricut Explore Air was already really confusing for her since she is not a crafter (she told my aunt it was some sort of sewing machine :D). This is going to be my first project. So excited!
Thank you!
Ashley
That is great news!!! She bought it over a Michaels then. Make sure you get all of our free projects that go with the machine too. We are adding another 10 this summer.
I love your latest creation! Will you be offering this one in Cricker DS? I hope so because I’m working with an iPad at the moment and I can’t use your downloads.
Unfortunately the DS is not a good fit for designers like us but I do have a workaround for you. You can borrow a computer and download/upload into your design space. They will then be there for you on your iPad anytime.
The SVG file is unfortunately, not working correctly. when I download it and open it, it just gives one page with I just black. I tried several times and I didn’t get anything different. Can you help with this? I see that you have the PDF file , but I would love to use the file in my Cameo.
Thank you so much for your beautiful artwork!
Sadly, I am not sure what the workarounds are on the Cameo as I use a Cricut. Are you using the design software upgrade? Is there a way you can call Silhouette and ask about uploading issues? I just retested and they look great on our end.
I think I had this problem initially but if you ‘ungroup’ then slide the black square away you will see the different layers of the design. I guess the black square is for the backdrop.
Yes, the square is the background:-)
Hi Lia, Finally got my printer working thanks to helpful HP Printer doc, made it so much easier, figured out couple other things. From looks of patterns for scenes this will take me while but will work on it little at a time and very carefully. Now’s when I sure wish I had your Cricut. Still pondering decision to buy one.
The way you put these scenes together is breath taking, the color of papers is idyllic for the scene. Look forward to making this and finishing it. Will buy a special frame for all my efforts. Happy weekend
Thx for membership receipt.
If you do make this by hand you MUST share photos!! I think you will love the Cricut. 😉 Black Friday.
I love this one more than the others, how can that be! Will you be offering it in Cricket DS soon? I hope so because I’m currently working on an iPad and can’t use your downloadable cut files. Pretty please?
Thanks! It is a good one. 😉 We will not offer it in DS. . . it is just not a good fit for designers like us. But, I have a workaround for you. You can upload this into your Design Space on anyone’s computer and have it there for you when you are ready to work on your iPad.
thanks you very mutch, like we said In Paris “you are Top Moumoutte!”
Haha, I am not sure what it means but it sounds cute;-)
I love your woodland theme in cricut space, but no way to get cricut explore in Italy, so neither your wonderful design. I’m very happy you share this one. so beautiful! 🙂
I have posted the PDF if you want to give it a go:-)
Hi Lia, thanks for your all ideas, when I get up I always see the new creation. but, this morning I can’t download “woodland paper” because I don’t have the good file cut, can you post the other download ? thanks you very much
Aleth From Paris
