Homemade Bath MeltsContinuing with our collection of natural beauty recipes, we’re showing you how to make some hydrating bath productsย for the ultimate form of revitalization. And this couldn’t be coming at a better time –ย winter is the perfect season for giving your skin the extra attentionย it deserves! Our homemade bath melts are extremely simple, so they are wonderful for even the most sensitive skin. You can find all the ingredients you need at our local health foods store or online, and then you can customize them with your favorite scents.

To whip up your homemade bath melts, start by gathering your ingredients. Feel free to also download our printable recipe in the template below, and find links for the ingredients we used in Shop this Project. These melts use a combination of cocoa butter, citric acid and baking soda. You can also add in some vitamin B, C or E drops if you want to useย them in your beauty regimen. The scent of cocoa butter can be a bit overpowering, so we wanted to counteract that with some yummy essential oils. You are welcome to use one scent, but sometimes combining scents can create a really beautiful result. If you are picking out your essential oils, we suggest holding both scents up to your nose at the same time, rather than picking two individual scents that you like. This way you will know if the oils work well together, and if the combination is the exact fragrance you are looking for.

We landed on a combo of bergamot and sweet orange essential oils for a relaxing DIY bath melt, and then another combo of ylang ylang and rosemary if you are looking for something with an uplifting energy. Melt the cocoa butter in a double boiler over medium heat, and then begin mixing your ingredients. After we finished our homemade bath melts, we sprinkled a little bit of glitter on top for fun. This is totally optional, but it does look pretty fun when melted in your bath tub. If you want to give a set of bath melts as gifts, you can simply wrap them in squares of wax paper and tie them with baker’s twine or jute.
