We love working with clay because it's a great reminder that things don't have to be perfect to be beautiful. Our bowls are not perfectly round and that's ok because each one is unique. Of course you can always make your clay bowls smoother at the top, but we think they are much more interesting this way! 

Another fun thing about this project is that you can use a variety of bowls to create different sizes of clay bowls. We think these would make great trinket dishes for jewelry, spoon holders for your kitchen, or a catchall bowl for keys, matchboxes, and other small items you want to keep organized. You could also use one on your desk for small office supplies like paper clips.

Once your clay bowls are formed and dry, you can paint them to complement your home decor. Or you can always give them as a gift — along with some DIY jewelry or something else handmade for the home, like these pretty dishcloths. Crafting Tips

Before adding your clay and water mixture to the bowl, you can put plastic wrap inside the bowl for easy cleanup and removal. After adding your clay to the bowl, you can use your fingers or a slightly damp soft sponge to smooth the surface of the clay while wet. Once your clay bowl is completely dry, paint it to add some color!
