Layered Watercolor Mirabelle Plum Art
Encouraged by the colors and flavors of France, we designed this Layered Watercolor Mirabelle Plum Art as the perfect complement to this month’s French Riviera-themed collection. Like many of our layered papercut projects, this craft is simple, elegant, and so easy to make. When you’re finished putting it together, hang it on your wall for a high-art, low-effort piece that will impress your guests.
You can cut all the pieces for this project by hand using our template, or you’re welcome to speed things along with a cutting machine. Once you’ve gathered your tools and materials, check out the video of our layered watercolor process below.

A Plum Craft
We love the organic feel of this botanical print and couldn't be more pleased with how it turned out. We chose the mirabelle plum for the subject of our painting as it perfectly embodies the luxury of our French Riviera collection. Mirabelle plums are a rare and coveted fruit that import exclusively from Lorraine, France. In summer, the golden plums develop cute little red freckles on their skin, making them quite a lovely sight. While tasting one for yourself may prove difficult, you can still experience its unique beauty in your home.
Historically, watercolor botanical paintings have been an important tradition in art, dating all the way back to the Renaissance. The rich color produced by watercolor is perfect for capturing nature's beauty and will pop wonderfully against your stark white canvas. Don't be afraid to play around with the watercolor β no need to be a perfectionist. Let your creativity run as wild and free as nature itself.
Please remember to show us the fruits of your labor by posting a pic to our crafters' community or on Instagram with the hashtag #MadeWithLia.

Leave a CommentI am unable to find the SVG cutting file for this. Can you help? Thank you!
Yes, everything for this project is contained in a single zipped folder. When you download this, it will be saved to your computer’s download folder. Double-click the zip file, and you can open the folder to find everything inside.
Hello, I uploaded the svg file to my cricut and it just comes though as a black square. There is also a message that says the file is incompatible due to text? Please help!
I just updated the file so it should work for you now. π

Wow, I love this! Exactly what I have been looking for to hang in a kitchen nook. Also, have been interested in trying a water color project. Emily is very talented!
I will pass this message along!
such a nice idea, I hope there’s more fruit following. Great for kitchen wall decoration (and small labels – water color – for canning lids?)
I am on the same page! I want a series of 4 for my kitchen. I am nudging Emily right now.
I was wondering which of the sheets of paper from the favani art pack is used for this project.
The watercolor paper is what Emily used for this project.
Love it! Definitely on my to do listπ
It is a gorgeous project!
