Homemade Gluten-Free Honey-Nut Granola Recipe
This weekend, in between exploring Portland and hiking in Forest Park, my visiting friend Dasha shared her favorite breakfast recipe. . . Honey-Nut Granola made with dried fruits and olive oil. I love granola because it reminds me of my semi-hippie childhood, and as of this weekend this tasty recipe has become one of my new staples. It is now easy to find gluten-free old fashioned rolled oats at many markets, so that was where we started our recipe. I chose raw pecans as the nut to mix with unsulfured dried apricots and dried cranberries. This is a yummy mixture but you can choose your favorite fruits and nuts for your custom batch. The flax, sesame and sunflower seeds add another dose of healthy. I topped my granola with coconut milk, yogurt and sliced strawberries. After our mid-day hike I snacked on a handful of the crunchy goodness. Thanks Dasha for reminding me of the delights of homemade granola! ~ Lia

Leave a CommentI love this gluten free granola! I make it on a regular basis. I love it over yogurt😋
I’m so glad you love it, it’s one of my favorites!
Hey Lisa,
Tried the recipe. The granola turned out delicious. I had just one issue with my batch. It turned out very sticky. Where do you think I went wrong? Or was it the wrong honey . Please help.
Thank you
Isn’t it yummy? It sounds like it could be the honey– you could try less, or agave nectar that’s less sticky 🙂
This looks and sounds really delicious… could I make this on a stove ? Because I do not have an oven but I do have all the ingredients 🙁
I haven’t done it that way but you can sure try!
I love your recipe and have made this several times. Can I replace rolled oats with Quick Oats?
I’m so glad to hear it! I haven’t tried quick oats but think they could work.
You have a beautiful blog. Just discovered it on Pinterest, but I’ll definitely be back! ❤❤
Thank you!!
I use this recipe all the time and adjust it based on what I have in the cabinet. I love it! Thank you!
You’re so welcome! This is a favorite of mine 🙂

omg!!! I’m baking it and smell delicious!!! Thank you!!
Yay! Enjoy, I am off to make another batch:-)
Thank you Lia! It turned out really good 🙂
Yum! Hope you don’t mind if I invite myself over for a cup of tea and a bowl of granola:)
What is the best way to store the granola?
In an air-tight container. It taste the best when fresh, I go through a batch every two weeks:)
Sounds yummy. I’ve been trying to stay away from “sucrose” so wondering if it would still work substituting dextrose for the brown sugar and rice malt syrup for the honey?
I think you can. I try to use more natural sugars as well.
I seriously dislike most of what we call breakfast food (except for potatoes).
Maybe this would change my mind.
I’ll make some very soon.
Try it! It is a tasty snack too. 😉
oh! this looks SO yummy! timely, too! thank you for showing me – so beautifully – how i can make it for Easter brunch!
Yay! Can I come to your brunch. 😉
I’m off to the store! I can’t wait to make it. Will leave a post when I do. 🙂
Tell me how it turns out! 😉
This looks really yummy! Thanks for sharing!
You are welcome Lisa!
