Become a MemberLast month, we used Canon’s IVY photo printer to make some cute back-to-school pennant flags. We love our IVY printer because it’s small and portable, so it’s easy to print photos from anywhere. But did you know that Canon also has printers exclusively for crafters? And they just introduced a new one! Today we’re showing you how you can use Canon’s new crafting printer to make your own printable birthday cards and more.
Getting Crafty With Canon
With Canon’s new crafting printer, you can do borderless printing on 12”x12” paper and pre-folded greeting cards. You can use it to print photos, too. Just adjust the paper feeder depending on your project. Since this model is an all-in-one printer, you can also use it for scanning and copying.
Some other great features that you might find convenient for crafting are Wi-Fi support, AirPrint®, and Mopria® Print Service. This means you can wirelessly print photos, documents, web pages, and more from your Apple® and Android™ devices. So, for example, if you see a DIY project on our site that you want to make, you could print the tutorial from wherever you are. Then it’ll be waiting for you when you get home!
Ok, now let’s get to the DIY project! This printable set includes the following: gift box, gift tags, 5″x7″ folded “Happy Birthday” card, and an A7 envelope. We used Canon’s new crafting printer to print the gift box and tags on 12”x12” paper. Then we printed the happy birthday card on pre-folded 5”x7” greeting card paper.
And thanks to our friends at Canon, we’re giving you this printable set for FREE. Just scroll down to download your printable birthday card, gift tags, and more. You’ll also need the two materials below.
If you want to look up Canon’s crafting printers, make sure to check out their site! Their new crafting printer is called the PIXMA TS9521C Wireless Printer. Have you used any of their crafting printers? Let us know what you think!

Hi Lia, do you have any YouTube videos showing how to make these using the Canon printer? Thanks!
Hi Julie! We don’t have a YouTube video for this particular project. But Canon does have some tutorials on YouTube and a great customer support if you have a specific problem/issue with your printer! Sorry we can’t be of more help for this.
I second what the others are saying. Both links are for the 12×12 set. No matter which link I click on I get the same download and I’m assuming there shoul be two different ones. I’m using Chrome on a laptop if that helps.
Hi Elizabeth! The links appear to be working on our end if you continue to have issues please email hello@liagriffith.com and we would be happy to get that over to you.
Thank you!
did you try on 110lb cardstock? does it work?
No we didn’t try 110lb but I’m sure it would work if it’s set to Heavy Cardstock!
The link to the 5X7 folded bday card is wrong. Could you please correct the link? Thank you.
A few of us have tested the downloads and they seem to be working fine– can you send a screenshot of what you’re seeing to hello@liagriffith.com? We’ll figure this out!
Is there a chance I could be doing something wrong? Both link appear to be the same.
Hi Andrea! I just checked both downloads and they’re fine on our end. If you want to email hello@liagriffith.com with screenshots of what you’re seeing, we can help you better!
