Become a MemberI have returned home from spending the last five days with my family to celebrate my mother. This Christmas has been all about mom, remembering, sharing stories, singing her favorite songs and looking at photos from her childhood and throughout the 78 years of her life. My sister Deanna painted this watercolor below and framed a print of it for each of us. Absolutely precious. I wanted to share it here with you. I love that we are both holding birds here.
I hope this is our first of many holiday seasons together here in blog world. I have so many projects I set aside to focus on my family these last few weeks, but we have another Christmas coming in twelve months! (I am promising you this bird template for spring since I was unable to post before Christmas). Love to you all. ~ Lia

Sure your mom is so proud of all your family and their many talents. What a wonderful celebration of life.
Thanks Sue!
Love the painting of your mom! Every time you walk by it you will have a little smile on your face remembering little things about her. People die but our love for them lives on.

I am seeing wonderful things in 2014!
Hi Lia,
I’m sorry to hear about your mom. She sounds like an amazing woman. I just wanted to tell you that I downloaded your Chalkboard Holiday fillable labels, and used the “NOEL” ones for some goodies I put in some small canning jars. She was so tickled with the labels, she said that was the best of all the things I gave her for Christmas! She just kept talking about how much she loved that label…lol. I shared the labels with her so she can do it herself in her pantry. I was so glad that I had found them, and you, a week or so ago.
xo Linda
Thanks for sharing your story. I loved hearing it. We have a wonderful year of wonderful printables and crafts coming up!
I just realized that I didn’t say who “she” was. It’s my daughter. She never was a cook until recently (ramen was about it). She’ll be 30 next month, and for the last 2 or 3 years she has become quite the cook, and quite the foodie. I’m sure you were wondering “who is she”….lol. Looking forward to what the new year brings!

Haha. Thanks for clarifying. I assumed it was your mom, but even better that is was your 30 year old daughter. 🙂
Lia, thank you so much for sharing your wonderful talents with us. You have given me so many pleasurable hours making flowers and trees – now birds!
“Santa” brought me a Sihlouette Cameo . . Which I first saw on your website . . More fun ahead!
May you have a New Year filled with peace and love. Karen
Thanks Karen! You are going to LOVE the Silhouette. So many things you can do with it. 🙂
What a beautiful & an amazing gift-
Thanks Cathie. 🙂
I hope you had as good a Christmas as possible considering the situation. I felt so bad for you about your Mom. I know how hard it is but of course don’t know how it affected you since I don’t really know you. You will remember your Mom and think of things to tell her many times over the course of your life. Hope rest of your family is doing ok, your Dad?
He lost his life partner, even if she hasn’t been herself for several years, she was still alive and he could remember her as she was.
I made several of your wonderful projects over last few weeks and thought of you many times since you told us about your Mom. I’m so glad you could all get together to celebrate and remember her life.
I’ll be looking forward to seeing the bird project.
I love the picture your sister painted, another talented one in your family.
The picture is beautiful of your Mother and is such an incredible tribute to your Mother’s life.
Thank you for sharing a part of your life with us, that must have been so hard for you.
Until next time.

I love this illustration. We are having her memorial in April at her home church. She had a good life.
