I love your your flowers, I am addicted to paper, colours and flower making. My problem is that I miss «Botanic Green Metallic» from PaperPapers. In my opinion no other green nuance can compare with Botanic…….
Hi Tine,
Sadly botanic is no longer being made, however we did just release our own line of frosted paper packs and we have included a color that is almost identical to botanic in the Conifer pack! Check it out here https://shopliagriffith.com/product/frosted-craft-paper-conifer-pack/
Lia I love your flower’s they are beautiful!
I was looking at the frosted paper available for frosted paper roses from paperpapers.com but they do not have a nice bright yellow. Do you have any suggestions as to a paper to use? Yellow was my mom’s favorite rose color and I wanted to make a bouquet for my sister.
Hi Mary,
Paperpapers.com has a range of gold frosted paper, light gold would be the closest to yellow. If you don’t mind it being a flat color Banana Split is a nice yellow.
Hi,
Can,t find the svg templates for the leaves and the thing coming under the flower.I found just the templates for the petals
I would like to know also the mesures for the petals. Thanks
Hi Erika, the template for the sepal and leaves are included in both the SVG and PDF files.
I purchased a Fiskars Lia Griffith cordless glue gun and was wondering if you knew where I could go to find out why it does not heat up. New batteries red light on but doesn’t heat up
Oh no! You can return it to the store, or contact the Fiskars warranty team. You can file a claim on their website, email them at Warranty@Fiskars.com, or call (866) 348-5661 x1. Filing a claim online would be the fastest route to go.
For the full bloom rose, you suggested going to Paper Papers for the photo tutorial to assemble this rose. Unfortunately that video was no where to be found. My concern is getting the center started correctly. The video you suggested for the simple rose calls for using a 3/4″ ball for the center, but in the instructions for the full bloom rose, there is no mention if a ball, just using a spiral for the 18 ga wire. I am confused and need a little help. I am pretty much a novice as I have not been able to craft for 8 most. so it is like starting over again. Thanks for any suggestions you can give me.
Hi Elaine! You can buy the paper at PaperPapers.com, but the template and video are included in this post. I start making the simple rose at the 4:00 minute mark in the video, and do NOT use a ball for this flower (petals are glued and spiraled directly on the wire). The full bloom rose with the foam ball center starts around the 12:30 mark. Let me know if you have other questions!
In making the full bloom rose, you say use 6 petals on the first un cut petal to make cone/spiral, you only used 4. Which is correct please? This rose is outstanding. Any reason I can’t cut the wire flush and usee it to glue to a board for backdrop?
Hi Janett! I start making the full bloom rose at the 11:30 minute mark, and do use 6 petals to make the spiral. And yes you can cut the wire shorter to use for a backdrop 🙂
Thanks so much, you have all the answers
. Love you and your fab designs.
You’re too kind 🙂
I downloaded the files, but my cutouts don’t look anything like what’s shown in the tutorial. Mine do not have any tabs?
Hi Susie– can you send us a screenshot of what you’re seeing to hello@liagriffith.com so we can help you better!
The first flower I ever made from your videos was the simple rose. I was hooked! LOL However I am trying to make the Full bloom and I noticed something. I wonder if I’m missing something?? I cut out all the pieces like it says for the full bloom rose. At 17 minutes or so, you start putting the first set of pinwheel like pieces together. You glue them on and at 18 min 10 seconds I can see that you have 3 more sets left to put together?? I only have 3 sets to start with. so,… What size of petals did you double I am wondering? or did I make a mistake when I downloaded? Thank you in advance. 🙂
Hi Katie! I see how this is confusing, I’m sorry! Since I was making more than 1 flower, I had extra sets of petals on the table. If you follow my words and the template then you’ll be right on track. The lovely thing about this flower is that you can certainly add extra layers of petals if you want to make it fuller, so play around with it and have fun 🙂
This is a Lovely pattern. I took your advice and added extra layers. I even throw a few single petals in here and there. They are lovely. Everyone I know loves them. Thank you! I am hoping that I have a Cricut or something similar in my future because I would love to try out quite a few of those patterns and be able to make actual Bouquets! I love your work!
I’m so happy to hear this Katrina!!
Hi! What is the density of the paper?
Hello! There’s a link in the post to the text weight paper we use: https://www.paperpapers.com/stardream-metallic-85-x-11-paper-coral-25-pk.html
Why do you say free template then charge for membership to get them?
Hi Janett! This particular template is not one of our freebies, sorry for the confusion! We do have a few of our flowers available for download here. If you have any issues downloading our free templates please send an email to hello@liagriffith.com and we’ll get them sent over to you! Please let us know if you have any further questions and we would be happy to help!
ok, so what am i doing wrong?
i am trying to download the file to my cricut, but it states it is not supported?
is there special instructions for this?
Our SVG files will download to your computer as a zipped folder. You have to unzip the folder to extract the SVG (on a Mac, you simply double-click the folder to do that).
ok, NVM I got it ! So, happy. LOVE IT ! THANKS
Just wondering if there is a seperate download file for the leaves? I have seperate colored paper – one color for the flowers and one for the leaves!
Hi! If you’re using the SVG files, the leaves are in the same file as the petals but they’re a different color so you can cut it on any color paper you wish. If you’re using the PDF, the leaves are separate in the full bloom rose, and are now separate in the simple bloom, too (I just uploaded a new version). Thanks!!
Thank you!!
I love making the roses and have made them in cardstock and 24# psper, but gave difficulty finding metallic or frosted paper. Any suggestions? Love your site and thank you so much for sharing.
Paper-papers.com has the best text weight metallic paper!!
Lia,
I’m excited to try this new larger paper rose. I’ve made many roses from the original design and have used a variety of different papers, even old book pages and maps! You are correct that cardstock is more difficult to use but if you’re careful it gives wonderful results. My favorite is to use patterned paper. Thank you for the wonderful designs!
Thanks for the sweet comment Dana, so glad you’re loving ours designs 🙂
These flowers are beautiful! Can I use cardstock to make these flowers or just regular paper?
Thank you Misty! We prefer text weight for our paper flowers– the paper just curls better and is more delicate and petal-like.
Is that accessible in a craft store or is it only online? I’m sorry for the questions.
We usually buy online from Paper-Papers.com, but most craft stores should have some text weight available. You could always call ahead to your local shop to check their inventory before going in.
Loved making the large rose, but found I added more small petals and ended up having to use high temp glue because the low-temp just wouldn’t hold on the slick paper. I am waiting for my green paper to arrive for the leaves and now am looking forward to making the smaller rose. so much fun…
So happy that you enjoyed making the roses, please share photos with us at hello@liagriffith.com We love to see what you guys create!!
Love the roses but the download link isn’t working just gives a bunch of random letter and numbers
What browser are you using? we just tried it on both a PC and a mac and it worked. Please email us at hello@liagriffith.com and we will be happy to help you troubleshot
The flowers are so pretty. Thank you
You’re so welcome 🙂
Your new rose is spectacular…can’t wait to make it! Would you share the brand and source of this fabulous coral paper?
Thank you Linda! I just updated the post, we used this nice Coral text weight metallic paper (https://www.paperpapers.com/stardream-metallic-85-x-11-paper-coral-25-pk.html).
Hi Lia
Your paper roses are what got me started on my adventure!!!!
Thanks so much for your inspiration.
