Any opinions on how the Cricut Maker 4 does with cutting small crepe paper petals? I’m more concerned about a good cut than the speed. I currently have a Maker but the print then cut feature doesn’t work so I’m trying to decide if it is worth the investment. Thank you.
We have not tried the different versions of the Makers since we still have our originals. We do have very good luck cutting most crepe paper with our Maker, and I am thinking the 4 would be just as good.
Hi Team Lia. I just replaced my Cricut maker with a Cricut maker three. I was wondering if the settings for cutting crêpe paper on this machine are different than the Cricut maker. Could you please advise. Thanks so much. I love your projects and all the products I have purchased from your shop are the best quality!😉😉😉
Congratulations Karen! The settings should all work since it still uses the same software. Remember that there might be a slight variation between machines due to blade sharpness, etc.
I want to learn to use a Circuit, but do not want to make the huge investment for one of the large ones. I was thinking about getting an Explorer Air 2. Do you have an opinion of this machine? Do you know of any limitations for going your crafts?
I do not recommend the largest or the mini, but if you are getting the main size, I highly recommend you get the Maker rather than the Explore. The Maker has the both a fine point and a rotary blade, which allows you to cut felt, crepe paper, and fabrics. Where with the fine point blade on the Explore you can only cut papers like cardstock, and vinyl materials. Here is a video where we go over the machines. https://liagriffith.com/cutting-machines-for-crepe-paper/
I am thinking about buying a circuit for crepe paper flower projects, but have no clue as to which machine works with crepe paper. Can you give me some insight?
Yes! We have a video we created a few years ago. You will need a model that includes a rotary blade. https://liagriffith.com/cutting-machines-for-crepe-paper-2/
Does the Cricut Joy work with the SVG templates you provide?
Only ones that use the fine point blade and that fit the smaller size. The Joy does not have the rotary blade option.
I am getting the Joy Xtra for cardstock. So I can make your Succulents patterns. So the SVG should work?
Yes, they should. I have not tested the Joy, but they seem to use the same software.
Thank you!
