Video: Decorating for the Holidays: One Small Space. . . Three Ways
We recently accepted a really exciting challenge from our friends at Pier 1 – to style one room in three different ways. Decorating for the Holidays is always a fun challenge, but to be able to dream up three unique and inspiring home decor themes was a blast.

Our first style, “Royal Celebrations”, is a sparkling carnival of rich golds, deep reds and lush, bright greens. Our table is set with a mix of glass and gold tableware, pretty gold candles and rich red cloth napkins. We included the image of the traditional German nutcracker throughout the space – on the mantle, tree and as napkin rings. These beautifully painted wooden knights and kings make for a truly royal affair!
Our second style, “Frosted Noel” is a textural delight with fur trees, over-sized string stars and even a few feathered tree ornaments! Our table is fit for a Snow Queen with gold printed tableware, frosted flameless tree candles and glitter star ornaments – so beautiful!
Style number three, “Plaid Tidings” is a sumptuous display of glitter red and rich tartans. Inspired by our love of the great outdoors, we layered on plenty of red berry decorations, natural pine woodland animal ornaments and our fave piece – the tartan Stag pillow. Wrap yourself in this soft wool tartan blanket and relax by the fire after dinner for a truly cozy Holiday. I might just be a little bit in love!
For all these gorgeous festive finds and more, head over to Pier 1 Imports are get your Holiday style decor underway today. Enjoy! ~ Lia

I love plaid on everything!! that’s more my style for the season! You look very pretty too!
Thank you!! I also LOVE plaid, it is the perfect fall/winter pattern 😉
love the fonts used in your headings–
can you identify them?
thanks & happy holidays
It is a custom font made by one of our amazing designers 😉
How to choose, so much eye candy to contemplate. We were in Pier One few days ago, I could have bought it all (yeah right, like my credit card grew it’s limit). They are excellent stagers like you Lia. One thing I didn’t find when we were there were those adorable furry owls. Think might have to stop by again for quick visit to buy at least 3 of those little owls. Can’t buy just one, how lonely it would be for one little owl.
You look quite fetching in all 3 style segments, growing you hair out?
The Merry Christmas garland sure keeps attention on it, so simple but draws the eye. So many absolutely wondrous decorations, can I have them all? Noticed you kept all of mantels very simple and uncluttered, draws eye to see what’s up there. If nothing else you are teaching me about staging (if I can keep myself calmed). At least in old age am learning don’t have to have everything out, just few complimentary pieces. Our small living room can’t handle much. Have gone with aquas and white with some silver, tiny bit of gold.
It’s amazing what rearranging a room does for dynamics of displaying embellishments. Changed what would be my first choices.
Now if I could only learn not to say too much, maybe, lol. Hope all having delightful day.
I am growing my hair out a bit for now 😉 Thank you for your kind words! White with aqua/teal is one of my favorite color combinations, and I love adding accents of gold too! I bet your living room looks great with that scheme. I agree, keeping the mantel uncluttered with just a few pieces is the way to go. Sometimes that’s hard to do during the holidays because we have so many decorations!!
