Become a MemberIf you were here yesterday you will have seen our rather fab DIY Father’s Day apron iron on designs. Today we continue the DIY Father’s Day projects with these matching dish towels in two different designs. We purchased these gorgeous navy and white dish towels in our local West Elm store. The horizontal stripe is ideal for both these designs. The first, inspired by a love of entertaining, is the row of drinks glasses, bottles and cocktail shakers in white and gold. The second, in a simple geometric pattern is the perfect addition to the classic dish towel stripe. Simply download the SVG file below and cut the pattern into your chosen iron on vinyl. We press our designs with a hot iron for 30-60 seconds until the top layer of plastic begins to crinkle. Peel that top layer away, lay an old dish towel over the design and press again for an extra 1 or 2 minutes. The dish towels can be washed as normal but do not tumble dry or the pattern will crack and peel. Pop back over the next couple weeks to see lots more DIY Father’s Day projects – all of which compliment our apron and dish towel designs. Sshhh, don’t tell the Dads! Enjoy! ~ Lia

Now those are some snazzy tea towels, would love to have those. Don’t have a cutting machine as you do but could use stencils to create nice patterns on towels. Don’t have a West Elm store around here, maybe Denver, but sure I can find some nice towels to make snazzier at stores in Grand Junction.
You inspire me so much to stretch my imagination further and try more ideas/techniques. I have several of vintage table cloths have been experimenting with to make some pretty tea towels, have made table runners and pillow covers using parts of tablecloths. The colors on those older tablecloths are so happy and love seeing them in my kitchen, on couch and bed.
Thanks for sharing your talents with us. Happy weekend
Hope you have a lovely Memorial Day weekend!
I love your Father’s Day gift projects! Thank you so much for sharing. Also, the salt and pepper grinders are so unique. Would you mind telling us where they are from?
Thank you. I love the design of them but they don’t grind that well. I purchased them at Crate and Barrel, check out this post. https://liagriffith.com/stylishly-label-your-olive-oil-vinegar-salt-pepper-grinders/
