DIY Elf and Santa Hats
Christmastime is always a great opportunity for photos, especially because it can be one of the only times that the whole family is together. If you want a festive touch to your holiday photos, we are showing you how you can make a set of adorable DIY elf and santa hats for every member of the family. This project is super simple to whip up with a sewing machine, and because you are making them yourself, you can customize the sizes perfectly. The template includes 10 sizes in total ranging from newborn to adult large. We wanted to make sure everyone could get in on the fun! To make these santa hats we used a combination of cuddle fleece in red and white faux fur. Cuddle fleece is often used for making robes, so it is super soft for kids. Before cutting your fur fabric, be sure to read our tips for sewing with faux fur to learn more about working with the material! Other than these fabrics, we also decorated the elf hats with our 1.5 cm felt balls.
After cutting your fabric, follow the printable instructions and photo tutorial below as you sew your santa hats. To add the felt balls to the elf hats, we simply used our low temperature hot glue gun. If the faux fur gets a bit static-y, all you need to do is spray some water onto the material.
