We just love these Embroidered Felt Moth Hair Clips Emily designed for this month’s collection. Not only are they perfect for the upcoming fall season, but their sweet and simple design ensures they’ll look good with just about anything. Clip them in with jeans and a T-shirt for an effortless daytime look, or pair them with a little black dress for an ethereal date night style. Searching for more moth accessories? Since this project requires a bit of embroidery know-how, we consider this to be more of an intermediate craft. If you need to brush up on your embroidery skills before getting started, we suggest taking a look at our Embroidery Basics course. When you’re ready to get started, check out our tools and materials list below. Then, download our pattern and tutorial to start crafting.
Marvelous Moth DIY
There’s something so otherworldly about moths. Beautiful though they are, their connection to moonlight and their air of mystery makes them a perfect crafting subject as we inch closer to Halloween. To mimic their dainty wings, we chose our felt in shades of pale white and light green for our embroidered felt moth hair clips. We stuck to muted tones for our embroidery floss, which I think gives these hair clips a wonderful vintage quality.
Daytime cool, or nighttime elegant? How did you style your Embroidered Felt Moth Hair Clips? We’d love to see your completed project in action, so be sure to upload a pic or two in our crafters’ community or on Instagram with the hashtag #MadeWithLia.
