These Fall Foliage Lacing cards are a beginner-friendly craft designed with kids in mind. We created five fun fall shapes (two leaves, an acorn, a pumpkin, and a mushroom) for your littles to enjoy. Simply cut out the lacing card shapes using your cutting machine (our SVG files make it quick and easy), and you’re ready to go. However, if you're planning to cut your shapes by hand, be sure to download the PDF instead.

In this project, we’ve included different sizing options so you can tailor the cards to fit your needs. For instance, little crafters can thread embroidery floss through the holes using a blunt tapestry needle, or if you’re working with younger kids, we’ve also included larger versions of the files so they can use yarn instead. Additionally, for the tiniest hands, you can even tape the end of the yarn to make a safe, makeshift needle. Just grab some sturdy cardstock for cutting, and let the fun begin.

Speaking of fun — There’s something so special about the Thanksgiving “kids’ table.” It's a place filled with giggles, imagination, and lots of activity while the grown-ups catch up over dinner. Crafts like these lacing cards give kids something to focus on, while also sparking conversation and friendly competition to see who can lace the most creative design. It’s a sweet way to keep them engaged while making memories. Plus, it's an excellent way to practice embroidery until your kiddos are ready to take on bigger projects like these easy Layered Felt Goldfish.

Once you’re all finished, we’d love to see how your kids enjoy these Fall Foliage Lacing Cards! So remember to share their finished creations with us using #MadeWithLia or post them in our crafters’ community to spread the inspiration. Here’s to a Thanksgiving filled with creativity, fun, and togetherness!
