Become a MemberOtomi, also known as tenangos, are traditional Mexican textiles that boast intricate embroidery in abstract nature motifs, all rendered in the most dazzling array of hues. Typically, Otomi embroidery is a labor of love, with artisans spending years meticulously stitching each piece by hand.
While hand-stitching isn't required, we created this Felt & Iron-On Otami Pillow Design to suit several different skill levels. So, this is a wonderful project for anyone looking to practice new craft elements. Whether you stick with the iron-on method or dive into the world of felt applique, the choice is yours. However, if you're feeling ambitious, why not channel your inner artisan and embroider the entire design by hand? The sky's the limit when it comes to expressing your creativity!
The Otomi aesthetic is heavily characterized by its colorful depictions of flora and fauna. Our design features a few woodland animals rendered in vibrant coral. However, as you create your Felt & Iron-On Otomi Pillow Design, include colors and elements that are significant to you. Also, don't be afraid to use our template as a starting point. Ultimately, you're in charge of the destination.
We can't wait to see your unique interpretations of this Felt and iron-on Otomi Pillow Design. So, don't forget to share your creations with us on Instagram using the hashtag #MadeWithLia, and let's celebrate the vibrant beauty of Latin American artistry. Happy crafting!
