We are suckers for a cute headband at Lia Griffith HQ. We are also a little crazy about felt. So it makes absolute sense that we should make a gorgeous felt leaf headband for Fall! We are all about the earthy tones this Fall – warm oranges, acorn browns and marsala red. Thankfully you can buy good quality felts in a host of yummy shades so that we can indulge our current color crushes in this project.
To make this pretty hair accessory, you will need a plastic headband and felt squares in burnt orange, tan, deep red, and dark brown. You will also need a few brown wooden beads for the acorns. Start by downloading our pattern below. Cut out the template on regular printer paper, then transfer the pattern to your felt using chalk or a white pencil. When you have all your pieces cut, you can assemble your leaf headband using embroidery thread and a low-temperature glue gun – simple!

Can you recommend a good quality headband brand? Please =D
I like the Scünci brand. I just added a link in the materials list.

Very clever. Love the leaves.
Thanks Lorraine!
HI there team, another awesome project. While looking at this adorable head band was thinking if contents maybe configured little differently would make very special and different little corsage for ladies for season. Wouldn’t that be pretty to wear? I love how your head band looks but some of us can’t wear head bands, ouch they give me head aches or fall off. So how about the corsage idea if head bands are given for some girls/ladies and corsages/pin for others? Just thought I would make that suggestion. Ok you can throw rocks at me now. Happy weekend
Love your thinking!! I think we may need to do just that. I am not a headband wearer either but they are cute for kids. 😉
great idea for a brooch on jackets and sweaters or pinned onto woolen yarn strings worn as necklace.
No headband for my short cut hair (very short cut) 🙂
Yes, yes, yes!! Love your thinking. 😉
You are creating one beautiful idea after another. What an inspiration!
Thank you so much, warms our heart to hear:-)
