This Felt Scraps Garland is both beginner and kid-friendly! The list of tools and materials is short and sweet and only takes about 30 minutes from start to finish. To assemble, thread your felt scraps onto embroidery floss until your garland reaches the desired length. When you’re all finished, make sure the ends are secure before you hang or drape it anywhere. Pretty simple, right?

Besides its simplicity, another great thing about this project is that it allows you to repurpose some of the creative debris that tends to pile up after a while. As a lifelong creator, I know how much leftover “stuff” can accumulate when you’re an avid crafter. This garland is the perfect excuse to dump out your scrap box and make something beautiful.

We really wanted a vibrant springtime palette for our Felt Scraps Garland, so we chose our pieces in colors that perfectly harness the season’s bright hues. However, choosing whatever colors you have left over from other projects is perfectly fine. Plus, creating this garland from your own personal scraps stash will ensure your creation is one-of-a-kind.

There is no need for a cutting machine and don’t worry to much about getting your rectangles cut perfectly straight, mine definitely weren’t! We have included a template for the ideal size cuts and have also shown a quick way to cut out full sheets of felt in the photo tutorial.

Now, off you go! Craft, laugh, and share the springtime magic you and your kiddos create. We can’t wait to see these garlands on your wall, mantles, and anywhere else you decide to put them. Upload your finished projects into our crafters’ community, or share your Felt Scraps Garland with us on Instagram with the hashtag #MadeWithLia.
