The double feather stitch is a traditional embroidery stitch that is easy to learn. Emily gave this classic design a creative twist by adding buds and leaves to create what looks like a trailing vine with tiny blossoms. The end result is this floral double feather embroidery pattern that you can use on anything you want to embroider.
When you’re ready to get started, download our printable pattern below. We have also created a step-by-step video tutorial to help you master this embroidery stitch!
Blooming fantastic
Emily chose to customize a denim tote bag with this floral double feather embroidery pattern. We love adding little DIY touches like this to everyday items as it’s an easy way to personalize them. It’s also a great way to make something plain a bit more decorative and fun to look at — like this tote!

Crafting tip: Print the pattern on Sulky Stick and Stitch water soluble stabilizer and place and cut the repeating pattern to whatever you’re planning on embroidering.

border by sewing machine: choose a suitable decorative stitch, machine embroidery thread and paint the blossoms filling by fabric paint (pen or brush for dark backgrounds)
That is an option too. Or you can do it by hand. 😉
