We have a new set of summer food wax in the shop, so we we decided to design these adorable summer gift tags to inspire your picnics and food gifts for the warmer months! We’re calling the papers in our food wax set Citrus Squeeze, Candy Stripe, Summer Sweets, Melon Pop and Tangerine Dream, so our matching gift tags include a lot of orange, pink and lime green hues.
Tools & Materials
- Scissors
- Hole Punch
- White Cardstock
- Ribbon or Twine
Printing the Tags
Our designer Lindsay made a huge variety of tags in this set, so download them at the bottom of the post and pick out your favorites! You have the choice of either printing these onto cardstock to tie them to your gifts, or printing them onto full sheet label paper to stick them to your gifts. If you are choosing cardstock, you will also need a hole punch to attach some nice ribbon or twine. We love pairing a couple of gift tags together, like stacking one of the “for you” tags on top of the citrus tag without any text.
Gift Wrapping Ideas
Hopefully these tags can inspire some summer food gift ideas for you! Here are a couple of our favorite ideas:
- Pick some fresh berries (we are lucky enough to have lots of u-pick farms and wild berry bushes all over the Pacific Northwest!), and style them into a DIY paper berry carton with your favorite sheet of food wax. Tie one of the summer gift tags through the openings in the carton with some matching bakers twine.
- Can your own homemade jam or summer preserves, then stick one of the long, thin stickers (like the one that says “Enjoy”) across the top. Wrap the jar with a sheet of food wax and tie some rustic jute around the lid, outside the wax paper, with a hanging gift tag.
- Bake your favorite summer muffins, place a sheet of food wax into a wicker or braided basket, style the baked goods on top of the paper, then tie a tag to the handle of the basket.
- Create a sleeve of cookies or macarons with the food wax and tie each end of the roll with baker’s twine and a gift tag.
More Inspiration
These are just a few simple ideas to get you started! Of course you can also use these summer gift tags for any standard box present as well. Browse through all of our gift wrapping printables for more options. We would love to see how you are styling your food gifts and tags, so please share your project photos with us! Email them in or tag us in your Instagram posts. We may even feature them if you use #MadeWithLia. 🙂
