Gold Foiled Christmas Ornaments
Hacking Christmas is my favorite way to do the Holidays. I like to make as many of DIY Christmas ornaments as possible but sometimes it’s fun to buy a couple items from the store and turn them into something you love. Our gold foiled tree decorations are a perfect example. We purchased a set of gold baubles which we then added gold and silver foil to, turning them into something rather special. The process of foiling is really simple. We like to use mod podge glue which we apply directly to the surface of the bauble. Lay the foil onto the glue and wait for it to dry. After a few minutes, rub the excess foil off the bauble with a dry brush or your fingers. I like the cracked, vintage look that you get from applying foil in this way. To create the foil polka dots, use a dobber to apply a dot of glue and apply the foil in the same way. I love gold on gold or a mix of metallics but you could apply foil to any color bauble and it would look just as fabulous.
