We are following up our witch peg dolls with these equally spooky Halloween characters! Our set of Halloween peg dolls includes a vampire, skeleton, mummy and black cat. The witch peg dolls included a lot of extra details like the brooms and the hair braids, but these Halloween peg dolls are a bit simpler to craft. Just like the witches, the basic materials that you need for these peg dolls are wool blend felt, paint and unfinished wooden doll bodies.
We found our wooden doll bodies online, and I added a link for you in Shop this Project. The main colors of felt that you will need for this project is white and black. You should be able to find your felt in any local craft store. For the mummy in particular you will need a thin cotton fabric, but you could also use gauze for a similar look. Download the printable instructions for a full list of materials for your Halloween peg dolls. Once you have your materials ready, print the PDF template. Cut out each piece as a guide for cutting your felt pieces. When you are finished cutting the felt, use your trusty hot glue gun to assemble the characters.

The instructions say the peg dolls should be 3 1/2″ and the link is also to a 3 1/2″ doll but they were too big. We ended up just cutting more felt for the bodies but they are pretty big for the size of the trees. When I read some of the comments, they said the peg dolls should be 2 3/4″ which make much more sense.
You might be right. This is an older project, and since then, we carry wood peg dolls in our shop that include the 2 3/4″. I will go back and update all of the links.
We made dracula and the mummy this weekend. Used an old white shirt for the material for the mummy; tried gauze but it was too “thready”. Fun project! Thank you!!
That is a great tip, Amy!
Hi. Is there and SVG for the patterns?
I just added them in! Enjoy.
Always beautiful, thank you Lia!
You’re so welcome, glad you like it! 🙂
Where can I find the pegs?
Check the bottom of the post, there’s an Amazon link to the right size peg!
Awesome!
Thanks! 🙂
