The best part about our holly berry branches is that the berries will stay intact! Since we make our own berries using cotton spun paper balls, there’s no need to worry like you would with real berries which eventually fall and make a mess. This way, you can also hold onto your branches and use them every winter to decorate your home.
Although our berries aren’t real, we do like to use actual branches when making our own branch decor. Not only is it a great way to up-cycle any tree branches that fall during autumn and winter, but it will also make your holly berry branches look a lot more realistic.

What type of branch did you use for this project? Branch suggestions?
I am not sure where Meagan found this branch and neither of us are botanists. lol. But, my tip is to go for a walk in a park or around your neighborhood and look for broken/fallen branches and take them home to dry out.
I live in Ontario and you are right finding spun cotton is nigh on impossible- however both Lia Griffith and Smile Mercantile offer the products online and shipping from both has been expedient and efficient. I have very successfully bought from both:) hope that helps.
I’m SO glad to hear that! Thank you for letting us know 🙂
So hard to find cotton spun balls in Canada, hoping Amazon will come through so I can make and enjoy this as part of my Holiday Decor this year🙏Love your use of real branches, I have many!
Ohh I hope you can find them! You can always use wood beads or foam balls if needed.
